"It's a wonderful time to be flying." Aaron reflected as he flapped through the sky, enjoying the southern thermal's that had blown in to the area around the great tree. Most of the sky was inky black, but a few low hanging cumulus clouds had been scattered through, puffy and white, and in one cloud's case, shaped like an olipoppen.
[Sorry this was so short -_-'. Please reply if you are up to it!]

Nebulous flew silently through the night sky. He had just returned to the tree from a slipgizzle mission when he decided to do a patrol and get some fresh air. He noticed another owl flying in the distance, he recognised him, since he had seen him around tree he decided to go say hello.

Aaron picked up the hushed sound of wing beats not too far away, not as frequent as some, so it must be a fairly large bird. Great Grey perhaps? Looking about the sky, he discovered that he had been correct. A great grey, he had sometimes seen frequenting the tree but had never talked to before. "Hello!" The barred owl hooted.

As Nebulous approached the owl he noticed that it was a barred owl. When he drew near to it the owl greeted him "hello" he said as they flew side by side "Hi" he replied "Nice to see a fellow guardian out and about" he continued suddenly feeling self conscious since he was in iron battle clad armor.
As a slipgizzle he didn't often wear his armor but he thought it would be best since he was out on patrol.

" I could say the same." Aaron answered. Sadly, however much he searched his memory, he could not remember the name of this owl. "Forgive me, but I don't recall your name." He admitted, resisting his nervous habit of fussing with his pummels, something he did when he felt slightly embarrassed. Aaron had a eye for battle gear, claws or armor. The make of the armor that the great grey was wearing was quite good, but did not seem to look like something he was familiar with. Not from the tree he supposed. "Your armor's quite nice, do you remeber who made it?" Oddly enough, he had met a few birds who couldn't recall who had crafted their battlegear. Thus he never assumed any longer.

"Its alright I'm no good with name either, and as for the armor it was made by a good friend of mine, a rogue smith called Erena " "Do excuse my bad memory but whats your name?, I'm Nebulous a guardian slipgizzle, and your also from the tree aren't you? "
As they spoke a huge flock of crows erupted from the forest in an ear spitting noise, Nebulous soon forgot the pleasantries " Move!! " he screeched , diving away into the forest.

"Yeah I am. I'm Aaron, part of the search and rescue chaw." Hearing Nebulous' cry to fly, Aaron flew as fast as he could, following the great grey into the forest. Looking behind after a few twists and turns, they seemed to be gaining distance.

After a hew minutes Nebulous swerved into an abandoned hollow, followed by Aaron " Wow, that was close, but i think we lost em. Now were are we exactly," He glanced around, the crows were definitely gone, but he hadn't been this way before. As he glanced around a thick fog rolled in.
"Oh, racdrops!, i didn't know my way before but now. . . . ! Well have to wait it out i can smell a storm coming "

[No not at all!] Alighting in the hollow, Aaron felt quite relived to have lost their assailants. On the great grey's assessment of a coming storm, he couldn't help but agree. As to their location, he was fairly certain it was somewhere on the cape of glaux. Suddenly a downpour tore through the forest, and the raindrops sounded like a tiny marching army such was their consistancy. "Glad I'm not out there." He reflected.

A moment later a heavy rain began to fall. " Well, better make ourselves comfortable, we may be here a wile" He began to search around the abandoned hollow, he eventually found a dormant fire an awoke by prodding it with a stick. The hollow was instantly brighter " That's better" he mumbled. Upon looking round he noticed abandoned nests and scattered feathers.
"I wonder who lived here" he asked, attempting to start a conversation, "It looks like no one been here in a while"

The flames certainly made things a little more like home, not like his hollow back at the tree, but a fire always reminded him of the place. "On that I agree, though I wonder how the fire managed not die out in that time. I don't see too many insects, perphaps they had a nestmaid snake?"

Nebulous nodded in agreement "I agree but where they are now is a mystery" As he spoke thunder cracked not to far in the distance, "I think its gonna be bad one" he murmured as he settled down in front of the flames, he stared into them, wondering, his mind wandering away to a far away time, but he shook himself free of the thought." So, what now then? "

"I have no idea, at least the tree is sturdy." Aaron attempted to make something of the old nests, just in case it lasted into the day, not that they would really notice that much, any sun would be completely obsurced by the clouds and until the nimbus clouds blew themselves out night and day would look much the same.

Nebulous could not shake the feeling that he'd been here before, but he chose not to think about it to much.He huddled down and removed his armor to get more comffortable, he glanced around the hollow, drawings lay on the wall, drawings of a happy family and a feeling flooded through him, something like to nostalgia, he decide to once again ignore it. "The cape of glaux, were at least one nights flight from the tree"

"Yes. I heard the weather chaw talking about a storm at breakfast. They were guessing how long it would last. Nobody bet that it would last longer than a night, so that is good at least."
