"Obviously they've been in operation for awhile because they have such a big setup here. You don't develop a gang like this on a whim." Tinker hissed back. "I'll move around behind him. When I'm in position, I'll do this" Tinker wave both his wings up and back down to demonstrate. "Then you move out and distract the guard, I'll jump him from behind. Does that sound good?"

Cleef thought a moment and played the plan through his head "Yes, but there is something I want to add to the plan and be sure of. Do not kill the owl, there's a weak spot on the back of his mask where his head is exposed. Hit him hard enough there and you'll knock him unconscious where we can then place him in the hollow and not have any blood on our talons." Cleef paused a moment and took a breath "I'm ready when you are." Cleef then pressed himself against the tree to conceal himself until he was signaled.

Tinker moved further into the shadows and took off. "Don't kill him, he says," He grumbled, staying close to the trees. "And whyever not. What it the heck am I supposed to hit him with anyway? A rock? Great Glaux no... And what are we supposed to do when he wakes up?" A few more relevant thoughts came to Tinker, mostly regarding the fact that Tinker had never killed anybody, so it was probably best just to incapacitate the owl. Tinker decided a headbutt would be best.

Cleef watched Tinker fly over to his post. He landed and gave the signal. Cleef took a breath and flew down towards the Great Gray who became instantly alert when Cleef got near. I hope this works thought Cleef as he landed by the Great Gray on the side farthest from the hollow. "Been having any fun lately, anyone attacked." asked Cleef in the most casual voice he could muster. the Great Gray eyed Cleef suspiciously then said "No, It's been quite boring actually, there's no one who's attacked, your the only other owl I've seen since first dark besides the one in the hollow who only sleeps." The Great Gray clearly seemed to be relieved in getting that off his chest. "Well I don't blame the owl. Not much else to do for 'em" Said Cleef "Besides try to fight back." responded the Great Gray, sounding a little disappointed Cleef then started making small talk with the Great Gray, distracting him from Tinker.

When he heard voices drifting across the clearing Tinker jumped into action. He silently swooped behind the other owl, landing such that his talons held down the feet of the Great Grey. Using his forward momentum he smashed his head into the spinal column of the guard, knocking him cold. "That was easy" Tinker said, staggering from the impact.

(OCC: yeah you posted ) Cleef caught the Great gray, but just barely, he nearly slipped off the branch. Cleef grunted "Yeah it was easy" he managed to drag the Great Gray across the branch and into the hollow while Tinker regained his wits. After Cleef had laid the Great Gray in the hollow he turned around to face the other owl. He was met with an awesome sight. "Da!" exclaimed Cleef as he hugged his father. Cleef's father hugged back "Son" he said. he pulled away and said "What are you doing here?" Cleef looked at his dad "I'm saving you da, I'm saving all of the owls from these owl knappers." "Alone?" asked Da in a worried tone "No" answered Cleef "I'm having the help of a friend." Cleef gestured to Tinker outside the hollow "That's Tinker, an owl who's helped me in the past and has proved to be a great ally." Cleef hugged his da again "I've been worried da. I've been worried that......that....." Cleef couldn't finish his sentence he pulled away and asked "Do you know where Mum is?" Da answered "No those thugs took her to another prison area. I do ,however, know where the leader is, do you have a map?" "Yes" answered Cleef (OCC: The group was on the branch where the map had been left and were now huddled around it.) Da pointed to a tree near the same prison burrow that they had thought Da was in. "This is the leader's hollow" said Da "It's guarded nearly all the time, but the leader takes nightly flights to exercise and check on the status of his camp. That's when you'll want to get him." "Right" said Cleef "Da I'm leaving the choice to you, I don't want you to come and risk being captured once again but we're after mum so it's entirely up to you." Da thought about this for a second the replied "I'll hold back for now, but if the need arises I will jump in." He then said his temporary good bye to the group and took of with the map. Tinker and Cleef knew where this hollow was. Cleef took off for the hollow with Tinker close behind. (OCC: You get to devise the plan again for when we land and the boss shows himself.)

Tinker racked his brains wildly while he tried to decide on a plan of action. The sun was already showing, so presumeably the leader had already taken his flight. The best plan, then was to find somewhere to spend the day. "Cleef! We should find somewhere to sleep until tomorrow evening. He won't be taking his flight now."

Cleef stopped mid-flight and looked to the sky, he had been so jumpy about their information and finding his dad that he hadn't noticed that morning was coming. "Right" Cleef said he looked around and wondered to himself wonder if crows wonder around here, I don't know better safe then sorry and missing feathers. Cleef landed on a branch and pulled the black crow feather into view from his back plumage. He always carried it around but usually hid it under his back feathers when it wasn't needed. he then looked around "where shall we stay?" he said to Tinker. Cleef decided that if he was to jumpy to notice that day was beginning that it was a bad idea for him to pick out where to stay the day at.

"Where did your father go, did you ask him? Ideally we should stick together. It doesn't really matter, though. He can stay hidden well enough on his own, as can we." Tinker called to Cleef. The biggest problem, of course, was that in the evening their attack would be discovered, then things would really get exciting.

"No" Cleef said "I don't know where he's hiding, but judging by the way he acted he's pry watching us this very moment." Cleef turned his head to Tinker, who seemed to be searching for a hollow. "I see it right anyways, the better we don't know so they can't find him from us." Cleef preened a few ragged feathers on his port wing to calm his jumpy nerves and made sure the crow feather was still stuck out in sight.
With his nerves calmed, Cleef loooked around and spotted a hollow right on the edge of the upper canopy. "What do you think of that hollow?" he asked Tinker.

"It looks fine, but I haven't looked in yet!" Tinker said, suddenly feeling quite calm. From the outside, the hollow looked perfect. The entrance was near the very top of the tree, and was small enough that it was unlikely to be seen except by a stroke of very bad luck. Cleef really did have good eyes. Hopefully the inside would be as ideal as the outside.

(OCC:......Do you want me to look in, or are you going to?) Cleef looked around alittle more.......nothing interesting, just trees. He turned around, there was a hollow behind him "Hmm...wonder how I missed that?" Cleef thought aloud. He looked for Tinker, He appeared to be checking another hollow. Cleef turned around and walked into the one behind him.
As soon as Cleef stepped inside he knew the hollow wouldn't work, it had a few scrolls here some maps there, clearly it was being used. Cleef walked outside but first looked at a map, it appeared to be a map check marking......something. It had a whole bunch of X's on various trees in the area. Cleef looked closer, he saw the tree where the barn owl they had freed had been kept. "this must be the trees that the prisoners are being kept in." Cleef was about to take the map but thought better of it. "surely they would notice this missing." he reasoned, and hopped out of the hollow back onto the branch.
Tinker appeared to be searching another hollow, for he had disappeared. Cleef waited, wondering what his mum was doing at the moment.

On the inside, the hollow was slightly less inviting. It was very rotten, and there were several grubs and worms clearly visible. This place could do with a nest-maid. It would do, however. Tinker turned around and called down to Cleef, "Come have a look at this, it seems fine." then crawled in. OOC: You pointed this hollow out, I believe? With his nerves calmed, Cleef loooked around and spotted a hollow right on the edge of the upper canopy. "What do you think of that hollow?" he asked Tinker.

(occ: yep, ) Cleef flew up to the hollow and looked in. "It's a little buggy but I think it's the nearest best choice." he said with a slight churr. He walked to the end of the hollow across from Tinker and took off his battle mask. He looked at the front of it, sighing with possibilities of what could happen tomorrow running threw his head, he sat it down. Cleef looked at Tinker, said good-light, assumed the burrowing owls sleeping position, and fell asleep with him feeling a tickle of something crawling across his back as a last thought before sleep.
Cleef's dreams where varied but they all related to the possibilities of what could happen the next night. In the first dream he and Tinker where flying right above the tail of the boss, whom in Cleef's dream was a huge Great Gray owl, they where just about to strike him when all of a sudden the Barn owl Cleef had released dived and knocked Cleef out of the air. Cleef regained his senses on the ground and looked up, the owl was harassing Tinker by diving and twirling and plucking Tinker's feathers, making him slowly become flightless and yeep "TRAITOR!" Cleef yelled, and the dream changed.
Cleef and Tinker where once again following the owl but where now flying so low to the ground within the sparse undergrowth that if Cleef moved his talon he would bump the Earth. They followed the owl out into the desert, leaving them no choice but to strike now. They where about to attack the owl when the two guards dived on them, slamming and holding them to the sandy ground, Cleef looked up only to see the owl standing in front of him with a small dagger held to his mum's throat, time slowed, the knife twitched, and Cleef awoke with a start.
Cleef looked around shaking the dream and coming into more and more consciousness. Tinker was asleep across from Cleef, it couldn't be told whether or not he was having any better of dreams. Cleef tucked his head into his wing and fell into a more fitful sleep with him waking up occasionally to a tickle on his back.
Finally, whith the sun a third of a quarter into it's path across the sky, Cleef fell into a calm and light sleep

Tinker slept peacefully. He had never dreamed lucidly, even as an owlet. Upon awaking, he would remember some snatches of ideas and emotions, nothing more. Only once, when he had been tricked into eating some very odd tasting plants had he really dreamed, and the memory of that which had transpired still made him shudder. Noises outside caused Tinker to wake. The entrance to the hollow was a deep, ebony black. There was a slight breeze, but that was not what had caused Tinker to awaken. He furtively looked for Cleef, hoping the small owl was awake and moving. He wasn't. Tinker picked up a small piece of rotten wood and threw it at Cleef, hopefully with enough force to awaken him but not enough to make a noise. It would have been safer to awaken him by shaking him, but that would have involved crossing in plain view of the hollow entrance, into which some malevolent owl might be staring. Tinker slipped closer towards the silhouette of the entrance, hoping to get a peek at whatever might be outside. Hopefully it was a guard trying to catch a bit of peace and quiet, who could be easily overwhelmed, otherwise a bat or some other night creature. Tinker doubted it, however. The outlaw camp was likely to still be in an uproar from the events of last night.
