Cleef, because of his quest to save souls or never ending journey to save owls (whichever owls chose to call it), hadn't seen his family in a good long time. He usually didn't travel to his family's burrow because even though he thought he had no enemies that didn't mean that he wouldn't gain any.
He kept away from his family so no harm or danger would come to them. This is what had earned him the title of rouge. He did, however, make occasional visits to his family's burrow whether it be a holiday or just a plain feeling of missing his family, and to be honest Cleef had been missing his family and this feeling became so much to bear that he decided to take a visit to see how they where doing and to tell them his stories, they always seemed to love his story's and did take a little pride in what their son had become. They did appreciate their other children and visited them too but that's for them to tell.

Cleef was flying a familiar route one he actually hadn't flown in a good while but one that was familiar and made him happy nonetheless. He was approaching his family's burrow, it was dug by his da's talons and was actually a gift his da had surprised his mum with. It was dug beside a cactus that actually was the residence of an Elf owl family.
Cleef flash backed to his junior days, He remembered how his and his siblings had played with those Elf owls and how when playing hide and go seek the Elves had always one. Cleef churred abit, those had been fun times.
Cleef noticed that the Cactus was empty at the moment. "They must be on a night out." Cleef said to himself "They did have a good amount of friends, they could be anywhere." Cleef was now half trying to reassure himself. A feeling of dread was starting to creep into his gizzard.
Cleef landed at the entrance of the burrow and yelled in "Mum Da! I'm home!" Cleef waited for a response..............nothing came. That feeling started to amplify. Cleef called again "MUM DA! ARE YOU HOME!?".............again no reply and that feeling got a little stronger. Cleef decided that he would wait inside the burrow thinking to himself "They must be out too. Who knows? maybe they went with the Elf owls." Cleef walked inside.
Cleef got inside the main burrow and found something that send him into a panic. The burrow was a mess and his da and mum where not there. Cleef lowered his panic a little, remembering the Elf owl family. He ran out the burrow and flew up to the cactus entrance. He thought that maybe they had returned while he was inside his parents burrow. The only problem was that when he looked inside the cactus entrance, which was a little small for him by a few inches, the elf owls had been ransacked too. Cleef was now in full panic mode. He flew off his cactus and into the desert night. Yelling out the loudest he could "HELP! HELP! I NEED HELP!"

Tinker had finished a mission in the Tyto fores. He was trying to avoid returning to the Pure One's Headquarters, so was taking a circuitous route through the Desert of Kuneer. He rather despised the desert because of it's very definition. A lack of water, intense temperatures, and pitiful supplies of food all served to make him miserable. On the other hand, anything was better than being hazed by the Pure Ones. As he was passing through a particularly dull portion, a noise on the edge of hearing caught his attention. Having nothing better to do, he followed the noise which quickly because apparent as an owl's screams of distress. He drew nearer and saw that it was a burrowing owl, nothing especially unusual given his current location.

Cleef's throat was getting alittle sore. He hardly ever yelled but he had been yelling his lungs out for a good five minutes and the deserts humidity didn't help. Cleef's throat was getting dry. He was now more or less yelling in croaks but he didn't stop untill an image of his parents flashed through his mind and then another that was more gruesome then the first.
Cleef's mind was in so much of a whirl that he didn't even notice the owl flying around him, and once these images flashed through his mind it was to much for him to bear. He couldn't think of that happening to his parents all because of him. Cleef had visited recently but hadn't stayed long. He was delivering invites to the harvest festival at the Great Tree and had delivered one to his parents. Before he had finished all of his deliveries he had decided to turn back thinking he hadn't stayed long enough and that he may not catch another chance in a good while.
All of a sudden he felt air rushing against him and saw the ground coming nearer ,and hard ground at that, and then everything went black.

Tinker drew nearer and saw that the owl was an owl with whom he had interacted many times before, Cleef. Tinker got quite close and Cleef didn't notice him. Tinker tried to attract Cleef's attention but the little owl was so caught up coughing and crying and screaming that Tinker couldn't attract his attention. All at once Cleef's wings locked and he began to drop. They were far off the ground and any fall would prove fatal. Against any owl's better instinct, Tinker began to fly downwards after Cleef. Seconds before they would have both died from hitting the ground Tinker grabbed Cleef and pulled out of their dive. The owl proved rather heavier than he had expected and Tinker had to drop him rather heavily before landing nearby.
The river Hoole was only a short flight from their location, where there were trees and water, two things Tinker liked very much. He sighed, picked up Cleef and began to fly east.

(OCC: Ok I know we are now in The Forest Kingdom of Tyto but I'm leaving the thread here because It originated at The Desert of Kuneer and may be going back there sometime. So instead of making a whole new threat in Tyto I'll just do this.)
(Location change: We are now in The Forest Kingdom of Tyto)
Cleef awoke rather confused. Noticing he was in a hollow he woke with a start and said "Mum Da" in a horse voice but sat down again. He hurt a little from hitting the ground. He looked around again to get a better grip on his surroundings and this time noticed that there was a Greater Sooty sitting in a corner of the hollow. Cleef thought that the owl looked familiar and cleared his mind (which was in a little jumble) and focused on the owl. It was Tinker! An owl Cleef had met and worked with a few times before. Tinker seemed to be resting. Cleef didn't blame him, he had carried him into the Forest of Tyto and up into the hollow. Cleef thought it would be rude to wake this owl and decided he needed to get his thoughts organized. Cleef got comfortable and waited and thought.

(OOC: We're not really in Tyto, just on the fringe. Wherever a river runs, even in the desert, there are trees.) Tinker woke. He was usually a very light sleeper but he had been so tired he had slept like the dead. Tinker looked up and saw Cleef awake and obviously lost in though. With some chagrin at bringing Cleef out of his thought, Tinker asked "Are you hungry? There's food on the branch outside. I didn't want to bring it in because I wasn't sure how long you were going to sleep," He peeked outside, "it's only a few hours old. If you're thirsty, which I can't imagine you not being, the river is about two minutes flight to the east." The sun was still in the sky, but it was late in the day. It had been a longer flight than Tinker expected and it was nearly morning when they had arrived. After finding a hollow Tinker had quickly located the river, found some food, and gone to sleep.

(Occ: Oh my bad I didn't think about the fringes) Cleef looked to Tinker, his mind was still running a little but he still noticed what was happening around him. "Thank you Tinker." said Cleef in a hoarse voice. "I'll grab some food and eat it at the river." Cleef stood up, wobbled a little from some remaining pain and light headedness from hunger, and walked out of the hollow onto the branch. He picked a vole and said to Tinker "I'll be by the river." and took off.
Cleef landed, from a rather noisy and wobbly flight, at the waters ledge and set the vole aside. He then bent down and began drinking water. He took eight slurps, then picked up his vole and flew over to a tree branch to begin eating his meal.

Tinker was worried about Cleef as he tumbled out of the hollow. To make sure he didn't have a problem, Tinker followed him, picking up the last few scraps of food on the way out. Tinker followed Cleef down to the river, and stayed in the trees while he drank and flew to a lower branch to eat.

Cleef had finished his meal and discarded the scraps. His throat felt better and the pain from his fall was mostly gone. He now sat in a tree and thought about his family's disappearance. Who could have taken his family and the Elf owl family and why. He could think of a two groups who could of done so. The Pure Ones, who would have taken them as prisoners or a warning or The St. Aggies. group who probably would have taken them to moonblink and turn them into their slaves. Cleef shivered at these thoughts. He wished he would just wake up and this turn into some crazy daymare.
Cleef looked around to see if Tinker had followed, he hoped the Sooty had and after looking around for a few seconds he spotted the owl higher up in a tree across from him. Cleef flew up and landed next to Tinker. "Tinker." he said "Do you know anything about St. Aggies having any activity in The Desert of Kuneer? I don't mean to make you feel awkward by asking you to slipgizzle against them but this is important."

Tinker shook his head. "I am kept busy with my chores for the Pure Ones and I am nothing to them, so I never know anything of importance about our enemies or about our actions. However, I have also been away for some time, so there may have been something that came up that I am not aware of."

Cleef wilfed a bit from embarrassment "Oh sorry Tinker I forgot you're with the Pure Ones not St. Aggies.......guess my head's still in a bit of a jumble." Cleef went back to his normal size and said "Anyway's I don't want to fly in the wrong direction and lose time. I'm going to return to my family's burrow and see if I can find any leads. You can tag along if you'd like Tinker but I don't want to pull you into something you don't want to be a part of." and with that Cleef took off in the direction of Kuneer.
Cleef landed at the entrance of his family's burrow and looked to the sky. If Tinker did follow, Cleef didn't want him helping to search his family's burrow just yet. Cleef was a bit to big for the Elf owl family's burrow, but Tinker would fit a bit better inside the hollow decreasing the chance of messing up any evidence. Cleef churred a little. He hoped that if the Sooty did show that he would like it that his size would help and not take it as an insult. Cleef didn't mean to insult the owl if it did.

(OOC: Tinker is a Greater Sooty, which is about twice the size of a burrowing owl? From what I understand of your post you think he is smaller that Cleef. His bio says he is small, but not that small!) Tinker flew back to the hollow and cleaned up the last of what remained there. He didn't really expect anyone to be following him, but he was naturally suspicious and always covered his tracks. He then flew back to the point in the desert where he had located Cleef, assuming that was about where Cleef would be headed.

(OCC: I'm sorry. I suppose I don't know as much about as owls as I thought. Forgive me on this accident and allow me to clean up a little in the story) Cleef saw a dot in the sky and watched as Tinker the Greater Sooty landed next to him and Cleef tilted his head up a little. Although Cleef was a little bigger than a Burrowing Owls average size Tinker stood about a head and a half taller than Cleef. Cleef shook his head thinking to himself "I must of hit my head pretty hard. I was seeing things from a higher few somehow.......then again I do remember feeling as though that hollow and branch were a little slanted. I must of been on the higher side of both."
Cleef looked at Tinker "Well I see you've decided to tag along and I am glad that you are here to help me once again. If you will please look through my family's burrow for anything out of the ordinary or suspicious. I'll join you after I'vee looked through our neighbors cactus." Cleef let out a little sigh to calm his nerves and flew up to the cactus's entrance and began to look around.

(OOC: You're not alone, I had to look it up to make sure I wasn't fooling myself) Tinker peeked into the burrow the slipped inside. He tread carefully, aware that he was only one step away from trespassing. The burrow was a total mess. There were signs of a struggle, the families sleeping nests were destroyed, but no blood. Tinker sifted through the down and moss, which must have come from the forest, but was disappointed to find nothing of note. He continued searching.
