Screeeech! A piercing cry would resound around an area of the forest of Tyto in the midday. It was a rough sound. Who would be awake at this hour? That was certainly not the call of a barn owl. Most owl glauc weren't out and about until at least the evening. But that was, indeed, an owl's cry, rough as it was. A blur of brow and white would zoom through the trees. Zoom? The flying was not silent.
Neither was the branching, at that. Hooting laughter resounding from the hawk owl as he practically slammed down onto a branch. "Hah! Theeze trees ahr hardah ta land on than deh cliffs. Bit nacht." The words the owl spoke to himself were heavily accented in Northern krakish. Bobbing in place, the raptorlike owl would scan his surroundings.
All still asleep, eh? No surprise. All these night-gatherers liked the darkness better than the light. He'd yawn. Kerrn had gotten a little sleep in the day, preparing to interact with the night owls, but it was still hard. At least the sky was starting to darken now, as midday turned into evening. Maybe he'd actually see other owls out and about.
For now, he'd pass the time by himself, swooping around to get some hunting in before it got too dark to see.

Everest was flying away from a mob of crows "Leave me alone you frinking wet poopers!" he screamed at the black mob of four. He heard a shriek in the distance and thought 'ah, someone that may be able to help me'.
He dived into the trees and lighted on a branch, swiveling his head he noticed a odd looking owl and started to fly towards it. He lighted down a few branches away from it "Hey, can you help me?"
OOC: Sorry if it's short, i'm new .-.

Kerne was stretching out his wings when he heard, suddenly, a whole lot of noise. More noise than he had been making before. Crows? What were crows doing here? Turning his head almost all the way around, Kerene spotted a Snowy which was squawking back at a mob of crows in close pursuit. And they were coming right for him. Oh Glaux.
As the Snowy landed on a branch a bit away from him, Kerene kerned around, flaring out his wings. "Tuoy yoicks?! You're leading them right at me!" The Hawk would sigh and tuck his wings to his side. "Luckily, you've found me. We can take these rats."
Dropping from the brnach him was on, Kerne would shoot up, blasting right through the mob of crows with his talons extended, letting out a horrible screech. The intent was more or less to scatter them rather than do any damage, though he did feel a talon find purchase in a crow as he blasted through. It felt good. Plurrh on the talons always felt that way.

When he heard the odd owl speak his eyes lit up "Sie sprechen krakish?!" Everest was so excited that someone in the Forest of Tyto speaks his home language. Then he realized the trouble he had put this bird into "Oh..er.. sorry" he replied when the owl suggested he fight too "Oh.. yeah.. i guess so". He seemed to hesitate for a bit then he finally gained the courage to fly up along side him. He had never really thrown himself into a fight.
Banking to the side to give the owl room, he waited until the bird advanced on the crows. He watched with awe as the owl scattered the crows, nearly taking one down. The Everest himself, decided to take advantage of the flailing birds, beaked off a peace of a crow's tail feather. "Taste your own medicine!"

After his initial blast through the crows, Kerne had landed on a branch on a far tree and turned himself around. Tucking his wings against his side, he'd watch closely as the Snowy dove in, biting a crow's tail feather off. The poor thing went yeep and spiraled to the ground, rudder control lost. "Ha-hah! Good work!"
Kerne dove from his new perch to lunge at another crow that was still scrabbling around in the air. His talon locked around the small bird's neck, and he proceeded to slam the dark-feathered creature into a tree before letting it drop. Using his talons, Kerne would cling to the side of the tree's trunk. "This is fun, eh frisen?"

Coryn silently flew threw the air above the Forest of Tyto. He had luckily escaped the duties of the Pure Ones for a few days and so he had headed out last night, hoping to see the forest in the day. He did love having some freedom, but he was also on the look out for more owlets to bring back to HQ and Tyto was the best place to look.
Flapping his wings, the Grass owl nearly lost his balance as a body hit his back. Stopping, he looked down to see a crow spiralling down to the forest floor, obviously gone yeep. Looking up, Coryn could see more crows flitting around in the sky.
Letting out an angry screech, he shot up towards the murder of crows, connecting his talons with the neck of the first crow he came to. As the lifeless body fell to the ground, the Grass owl turned to the next crow, grabbing it's left wing in his talons and flinging it down after the other crow. The rest of the crows flew away with frightened caws, leaving Coryn hovering in the air. He looked up, and was surprised to see two pairs of eyes looking at him, belonging to a Snowy and a Hawk owl.

Everest watched the odd owl with a fascination. Loving how this bird was fearless in the heat of battle. How does he do it?! he wondered mindlessly to himself. He had not realized the crow plummeting to the ground after the owl had dropped it. Eyes fixed on him he heard the owl speak to him and called him 'frisen'. He looked on awkwardly I've heard that before, and it's easy!.. I just can't grasp it! finally starting to speak up he said "Er.. I've never really been in a fight before" he looked away for a second then looked back "Tell me, what is your na-" He was cut off by a piercing screech What the..?
Everest looked up to see a Grass Owl of some sort then he saw her face. He almost went yeep he had heard about this owl. He had thought she was a Tyto Alba, not a Grass Owl. But this owl looked close enough to the description. He gained enough courage to pipe up "N-n-n-Nyra..?"

"Nyra?" Coryn said, confuesed, "I am not Nyra, but I am a Pure One." He flew closer to the Snowy, "I don't know why you would mistake me for Nyra but one, I am a male and two Nyra was a barn owl, if my knowledge serves me right." He looked to Snowy up and down, sizing him up for a possible battle.

He had barely noticed that the owl was male, and he had realized the owl hadn't had a scar. He sighed with relief, but only for a moment. Hearing that this owl was with the most evil owls he had ever known, he almost fluffed up twice his size. He shivered at the thought of fighting this owl "Look.. uh, sorry for the mistake." he said in a low voice. Then looked at the owl 'He's sizing me up!' he almost went yeep. Then he managed to speak again "I don't want any trouble... thanks for the help"

Coryn gave a small smile, "Well, it's good to see you have manners," He looked up at the sky, now empty of crows, "Why were you fighting those creatures anyway?"

Heart beating almost through his chest, Everest gave a nod and looked up at the sky as well. "I was traveling in the day light, i was also looking for a river" He didn't want to share too much with this owl.

"Mmhmm," Coryn grunted. He could tell this owl was hiding something and, even though it wasn't his business, he was determined to find out. "So, what river was this and why were you looking for it?" The Grass owl didn't care if he sounded nosy, perhaps it could lead him to some owlets.

Without even thinking he blurted out "I'm going to the sea of Hoolemere" Then his eyes grew wide, this may put him in danger. What if this owl would kill him if he found out he was going to the Great tree? Maybe Everest didn't have to worry 'Maybe, this other owl like bird could help me' He thought desperately. Nudging him he tried to make a notion to the other bird to help him with the Pure One.

Coryn glanced from the Snowy to the other owl that seemed to be with him. If this owl was headed to the Sea of Hoolemere, he wouldn't stop him. He was Impure, and so no use to the Pure Ones. Perhaps, if he helped this owl on his way, he could memories the locations of nests for owlets to steal on the return journey.
------
Meanwhile, Verae soared through the skies above Tyto glancing down at the tree line every now and again. The Queen of the Tree usually took trips to Tyto to hear new stories owlets were told in their hollows, although her trips were to only last a few days and were becoming less and less frequent due to increasing need of her back at the Great Tree.
Looking off into the distance, she could see three owls talking, although one seemed to be quite distressed. Flying over, she glanced at the three that were now hovering by her, "Is everything alright here?" She asked, smiling to the owls.

Not being able to over here a slight breeze. He opened his mouth and let out his tongue a little, this was a trick that his father had taught him to see if and where the wind was blowing. 'Odd' he thought to himself 'the wind isn't even blowing.' He noticed something in the sky, it was a small dot, and it was getting bigger.
As the large Owl hovered near them he looked at her.
"Why hello!" he replied without hesitation. Maybe this owl could lead him away from the pure one. "Everything is fine, I was hoping to find a river" he said, then in a whisper he said "I'm trying to find my way to the Great Tree of Hoolemere" Then he gave the pure one an odd look, hoping he hadn't heard what he had said.
