Deadline to post is April 1, 2013
-Please post the how and why you’re owl(s) ended up here. Remember not all characters need to be brought in at once. Since this particular event is a war, I will not be providing options for you to choose from. You are free to make your own decisions. Have fun everyone.
Part One -
The cloudless night sky hung over the desert, a sliver of moon piercing the fabric of night. The silence was eerie like the calm before the storm. War was brewing between the kingdoms. The dull murmur of soldiers whispering amongst themselves and the sharpening of weapons arose from quiet. All hagsmire had yet to break loose.

Coliaby was among the ranks of the Guardian soldiers. She was chosen by the monarch as the most advanced battle-claw user in the tree to fly point in the Strix Struma Strikers, an ancient group of fighters named after the famous Strix Struma, long dead, but her blood still flowed through Coliaby's veins. Coliaby and the rest of the Strix Struma Strikers were silent. The moon hung like a gleaming battle claw abve them. Coliaby surveyed her fellow Strikers with amber eyes. She turned her helmeted head back to the moon and clicked her Silver Strike battleclaws against the rocky surface of the Desert of Kuneer. She was aware that her talons were shaking, but she hid it. It would do no good to show fear in the face of war. Coliaby could feel the smoky hagsfiends swooping, waiting to drag the dead to hagsmire with them. A single black crow-like feather that was made of tendrilly smoke brushed the exposed part of Coliaby's facial disk. Ah, the wind seemed to whisper in the hagsfiends voices. Soon we shall drink our fill from the souls of the dead, we will steal their souls and become stronger. Will you be among them, Coliaby? Will you become a hagsfiend too?
Karishma was also in the Striker force. She and Parzival flew wingmen for Coliaby. They had each brided a milkberry from each season to symbolise this, as Coliaby wore the anklets. Karishma shook as the silence hung heavy. The Blue Treasure set she wore caught the moons light and it radiated much brighter. She, too, felt the hagsfiends waiting for the dead, and she hoped fervently that the Glaumorians were waiting to rescue the spirits from the hagsfiends' hungry claws. She tapped a beat on the ground; tap, tap, tap-itty tap. Tap, tap, tap-itty tap. It seemed an insignificant noise compared to the deafening silence.

Dianthe was a free-lance blacksmith, but Prue found her in her forge. She agreed to help Prue and the Guardians after Prue and her shared their histories. She flew to the Tree to help create battle claws and other weapons she had created in the past. She will teach smiths at the Tree how to temper the steel, and such. She is also a great fire, and will be a part of the battles with the Guardians.Dianthe flew through the night air, soaring through the night thermals. The cold breeze ruffled her uniquely colored feathers and she sighed. She missed the heat of her forge, and dancing with the flames. Within her tempered-steel-clad talons she clutched a bronze bucket. In the bottom of the bucket, her various tools were hidden. On the top level, she had coals that she had collected from the forest fire. Dianthe's amber eyes glowed like the coals in her bucket, bright as the stars above. Her burnt-orange colored feathers looked like a brand of fire dancing through the stars. Within her head, she was preparing for the battle that was coming. Attachments:

Feliah is a Guardian and was one of the many chosen to join this battle. This will be her first ever battle and so she is inexperienced in fighting but she will do her best.
Feliah sat perched on a rock above the wide open space of the desert. The young female had her eyes closed as she focused on the upcoming battle, preparing her mind for the horrors she may yet see. As she opened her eyes she stared across the dark sands, her eyes seeing nothing but her ears hearing the sound of soldiers preparing for war.

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,false][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,100,true] | [bg=000000] Kryton and jumar were deep inside a cave located within the beyond. Kryton was roosting while Jumar was exploring. Sudden wing beats could be heard entering the dark cave, followed by sound of talons landing on a stony floor. Jumar was quick to respond by staying silent and hiding in a small crevice, waiting for whomever this owl was to come by. Soon enough, a female barn owl with brown sports covering her chest and a battle claws in her talons walked straight by him. Jumar gave two silent clicks to signal kryton of the intruder. And before he knew it, Kyrton already held the screeching female owl within his talons. “What are you doing here!?” he demanded of her as she was screeching in fear. “I’m a messenger, please don’t hurt me! Supreme commander Katara urgently wishes to see you!” Kryton lowered her down and flew back to his perch as jumar crept out of the crevice, “Now what exactly does your commander want of us?” The barn owl jumped a little as Jumar spoke from behind her. “sh…she needs you to be a spy for the pure ones and Kryton to serve in our forces during an upcoming war.” Jumar tilted his head, “well, you know that we only serve for a reward, what’s in it for us?” he asked her, “I've been informed that you’re after a new set of fire-claws and that you are always interested in some more paint." jumar smurked. "deal." And so the two owls flew with the messenger to serve for the pure ones.
(OOC: Mysterystar, I really don’t know if it’s appropriate to include Hagsfiends into the battle. They were said to have all been killed in the last book and this is just a battle over kuneer, I really don’t see how hagsfiends could be involved. I liked how you set it up though, but maybe you should ask gabjas before throwing them into the thread. @spice I hope you don’t mind mentioning Katara in my post. If you want me to change it just tell me.)

(I'm glad you used Katara in your post! I just finished her bio last night and I can't wait to roleplay with her.) Katara is the Supreme Commander of the Pure One's armies. Though she is only 26 moons, she progressed and excelled through her training quickly. She moved through the ranks and soon became appointed Supreme Commander by the High Tytoness, Thalia herself. She is a graceful fighter and an amazing flier. She will be a fighter as well as the commander for this battle.Katara paced in front of the rows of the new recruits, un-blooded and hungry for the chance to prove themselves. Her signature smithing claws clicked lightly on the stone floor, like the tinkling of little bells. "Recruits!" she called, her voice carrying through the cavern with ease. "Battleclaws on!" the recruits scrambled to attach their new battleclaws, courtesy of the Pure Ones. She stopped pacing and turned to face the recruits. "Tonight," she called, "WE FLY!"For more information, here's her bio: gahooliandecree.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=pure&action=display&thread=582

Barrath and Kygoe are two brother's within the Pure Ones, both Lieutenants under Supreme Commander Katara. Kygoe, being the evil little snip he is, has been appointed battalion inspector. He will not be a part of the battle due to his strangely proportioned wings and talons (terrible flier) and his small size (lack of battle prowess). Barrath, being a good fighter but rather, shall we say... Stupid, was appointed to the second squad. Barrath will be fighting and Kygoe will be plotting.Kygoe stood among the recruits, alongside his brother Barrath and an un-blooded sooty. He watched Katara, his long-time and rather hopeless crush pacing back and forth. He barely heard what she said as she prepped the recruits for the upcoming battle. He was mesmerized by her obsidian eyes, sparkling with the lust to fly in battle. He heard tales of her graceful fighting, almost like she was dancing with her opponent. Oh, how he wished to be the one she was dancing with. Barrath forced on his battle claws, getting more frustrated by the moment. Kygoe snapped out of his reverie and told his brother "It would help if you put the claws on the right talons!" Barrath grinned, his stupidity shining through like the rock his brain was. (skyfalcon, it does mention that there are still the weak, powerless wisps like scrooms of hagsfiends, which is what these are. The hagsfiend scrooms are free to scare the wits out of Coliaby if they want. Don't worry, it's not like they'll suddenly pop out of nowhere and start killing anyone. Just wisps...wisps.....wisps............ okay, that was dumb.)

(Note of Clarification: Yes, as long as these wisps are not used in the actual battle, it is okay to mention them briefly. But thank you for your concern anyways.)

| [bg=040707] Tinker, being one of the lowliest members of the Pure Ones, was naturally selected as prime material for a front-lines and dangerous missions soldier. Of course, he was used to stupid and dangerous missions, and he was confident he would survive to see many more.
"I'm here to relieve you" said Tinker to a Pure guard. The guard grunted and snapped upright, then muttered something noncommittal and flew past Tinker. Tinker landed where the other guard had been standing and, with nothing else to do, his mind began hopping from thought to distracting though. Mostly, Tinker wondered what the Pure ones were doing fighting over the desert. As far as he knew, there was nothing here worth anything. Perhaps this was just the unfortunate site where borders were being argued.
|
[/blockquote]

I think it's time to make a new post table for Tinker! Oh! There are other Pure Ones! Tinker can't just mess about as he usually does, he has to follow orders!

(OOC: I finally dragged my lazy butt over here to post. :3)
Prue had chosen to fight over smithing claws for battle; she had already recruited Dianthe, a talented smith to forge weaponry and armor and therefore felt she was needed more on the battlefield. The Barn owl will fight alone, choosing to avoid the chaw fleets and such. She will welcome a friend to fight at her side though.
Prue donned her metal mask which she had forged herself in her spare time between training and affixed her favorite pair of battleclaws to her mangled talons. Flexing them with a satisfied nod, the Barn owl emerged from an abandoned den. The Guardians had found these various obsolete burrows and nooks that they had made their own, using them to set up forges for the smiths and for soldiers to prepare for battle.
The cool air of dusk was brimming with tension, for the armies knew that on opposite sides of the large dune were heir enemies, awaiting the call from their leaders to fight. Prue had volunteered herself to stand as a sentry on the outskirts of the Guardian camp, assuring no Pure Ones attempted to attack from the shadows that danced away from the light of her torch. They had mere hours before war brewed.
Prue sighed tediously, thinking of her pity for the owls of Kuneer. The innocent that would suffer because of this battle, but it must be done for the good of all. This could determine whom would rule in the end and she was certain that if it were the Pure Ones, the supposedly 'impure' owls of Kuneer would be no better off.

(OOC: I hope you don't mind, I mentioned Prue a bit in my post, sorry) Lyra had heard of a battle brewing over the Desert Kingdom of Kuneer. Her first reaction was indifference. However, when she heard Prue, her cousin, was fighting there, she knew she had to join her. Stopping to strap on her best pair of battleclaws, the Azure Kielian, a helmet and wing-blades matching. She also forged two owl sais sharpened more like swords than batons to match. She joined the fight ready to defend Prue.
Prue turned to the unmistakeable sound of a swishing blade. Turning, she saw Lyra decked out in her own battleset and holding an owl sai in each taoln. Strapped to her breast was an assortment of weapons. There was a coal blade with a safety case on the coal part, an ice scimtar, an everburn branch and two ice knives. She was flicking one sai back and forth. It twirled in a hypnotic silver fan. "Heard a fight was going on. Couldn't leave you to dry, could I? Prue noticed that Lyra was once again covered in soot, but this soot had been deliberately smeared on. Her facial disk was still pure white.

(OOC: I don't mind too much, MysteryStar. But just this once, alright?)
The High Tytoness, being the supreme leader of the Pure Ones had evidently wished to fight alongside her army. Unfortunately her low stamina for flight would make it difficult for her on the battlefield and leave her vulnerable. A few of her council members, the council consisting of her commanders and generals, had insisted she remain behind the soldiers in order to prevent her demise or capture. She was at first quite against it, saying she would rather die then be a coward in the face of her enemy, but they managed to persuade her to keep her fighting to a minimum in order to preserve her.
Thalia perched at her throne which had been carved of a boulder in the face of her cavern chambers. The red banner bearing the mark of the Tytos danced in wind aside her. Katara, her supreme commander and close friend was addressing the soldiers that stood in single-file lines before her. They heard the soldiers bark an obedient "Yes, ma'am." Thalia cleared her throat and bellowed.
"Pure Ones, we shall take wing this night to Kuneer to face a foe that has challenged us for decades. The Guardians shall pay for the ignorance, protecting those impure owls." with this, she spat at the ground in pure disgust and contempt for the impurity of those owls. "Show them no mercy. Their blood will be shed. Their screams will be heard. And this time, we will be victorious! The kingdoms will be ours!"
A chorus of cheers arose from the soldiers and soon they had joined in the familiar chant. Their talons struck the stone ground in unison and their cold voices merged to declare her name. "Thalia. Thalia. Thalia."

(OOC: THALIA! THALIA! THALI- Woah, did I just get caught up in that chant? O.o)
Maia's pups were being slaughtered by the MacHeaths when a passing owl saw the killing. Maia was in the Beyond when an owl heard her plight. The owl died trying to save her pups, and told Maia about the Battle in Kuneer. Maia wanted to repay the owl's service to her and her mate, so she headed to the Battlefield. (She will arrive late, just to help the Guardians win.)
Maia bounded across the plain, dust flying up in her wake. The sun overhead beat down on Maia's thick white fur, warming her bones. She raced across the plain, crossing the barren landscape quickly. She wished to reach the battlefield before the battle began, to help the owls that had sent the blessed owl to save her pups. Though the pups had died, the owl had stood up for her at least. He had brought awareness to the other pack mates. She wished to repay her debts.

Ambrose owes a life debt to the Guardians after a soldier of theirs fought his crazed father in an attempt to save his pups. He traveled from the cold reaches of the Beyond the Beyond to fight for the Guardians.
Ambrose bounded over the dunes of red sand, his characteristic stagger unable to deter the black wolf. His piercing blue eyes scanned over the patches of weeds and cacti. An elf owl ducked into a niche in a cactus as he passed with a terrified yelp, but he paid no heed. The air was silent but he could sense tension as he approached the Guardian camp. A Snowy owl guard turned to him in utter shock and Ambrose could see that if he had been in flight, he would have plunged to the ground below, a term he believed they called 'going yeep'. He paused and bowed to the owl, his head descended in a gesture that symbolized utmost respect. The wolf allowed his mate, Maia, to step forward and speak with the owl.
