Cleef flew North. Guided by the stars he was able to pinpoint which way North was. The cave they where looking for was right on the boundary of Tyto and The beaks so he wouldn't be surprised if there cave was in a mountain. "Remember to whatch for a quiver of some sorts." called Cleef to Tinker "That's what will also help guid us I think."
Cleef looked up at the stars. He didn't know what they would face in the cave so he wanted to enjoy the flight.

Tinker followed Cleef. He was content. It wasn't that he enjoyed following others, but things were surely much simpler not trying to plan himself.

They had been flying for about ten minutes when the Mountains of the beaks started popping up. They few another minute or two before they came up to the cave. It was, as Cleef had thought inside a mountain. It also was still with in Tyto Forest so it matched everything, besides the quil. It was no where to be found.
They came to the entrance of the cave and lighted down. Cleef got the creelies for a second as he peered into the cave but quickly shook it off. "I wonder why they call it the cave of the blizzards?" said Cleef quizzically to no one in particular. The cave seemed to slope up instead of go farther into the mountain. The cave had a strange feeling to it.
(OCC: You get to find the quill.)

Tinker landed a short time after Cleef (he had been flying behind, lost in thought) and peeped into the cave. He hopped a step into the cave, then took another step. Suddenly, his feet disappeared from under him, and he slid tailfirst down into the cave. After a few moments of falling, he hit a small boulder protruding from the ice. It was lucky he had fallen feet first. When he hit, something crunched and started sliding with him. When he stopped moving, he stood up. He had slipped on a thin layer of ice, not completely covering all the rocks in the cave. It was strange that ice should exist in this cave, because the weather was quite fair outside. Tinker brushed himself off, and looked back up to the mouth of the cave. There were no bends to the ice slide, although it was a good distance up. He could see the outline of Cleef looking into the cave. "I'm fine!" Tinker yelled up. He then started looking for whatever he had hit on the way down. It was extremely dark. He took off his mask to allow him to see better, but he mostly relied on probing with his talons until his eyes adjusted enough to make out basic shapes. The object had fallen to his port side, so he began looking in that direction. Tinker jumped when he discovered what he was searching for. It was a skeleton, about the same size as Tinker. It was missing its skull and its left wing was damaged, although both could have happened when Tinker knocked it. Just further along, was a small carrying pouch with no opening. Tinker could not think what to make of it, and was beginning to become quite agitated. He collected the bag, then flew back up to Cleef. After he finished recounting his story, he handed the bag to Cleef. It was not heavy, and could have easily been empty but for a small lump at the bottom of the bag. OOC: I'm not quite sure what you have planned for this cave, so we can scratch this whole post if it doesn't work with it. Also, just now you said quill, while at the beginning, the riddle said it was a quiver. Just a brain fart, I assume ? Either way, open the bag, and find whichever one you want.

(OCC: Yeah it was a typo. And it was supposed to be a quiver.) Cleef opened the bag Tinker had haded him and found a key that looked some what like a quill with a arrow tip on the end. He pulled it out and realized it was a key of sorts. "This must be our quiver!" Cleef said this quite happily. "They must be in this cave. Let's go up and follow the caves slope. I don't think we'll find anything more down there." Cleef took off in the direction of the upward slant. He again had the creelies and an ache in his gizzard. He know what laid between them and the resistance was whatever killed that owl. Cleef prepared himself for the worst.

Tinker followed Cleef. His heart was still pounding from his recent experience, but he was still prepared for more. "What do you think could have killed that owl?" Tinker asked Cleef. "It was clearly dead for some time, and a corpse would have usually mummified in that environment rather than decay, could it have been thrown in recently?"

"That is possible." Said Cleef to Tinker. "Then again this cave is strange. When you fell the bottom of the cave was ice. I don't know what creature would have killed that owl, but the floor collapsed so easily that I'd say there's going to be traps. It's possible that whoever......whatever has captured the resistance set a trap outside."
Cleef saw the top of the cave he rounded it and landed on the out slant. Since he was on top of the cave it was very cold. Cleef gave a shiver then looked at what he and Tinker would face. What he saw was more beautiful then scary. He was within an Ice cavern there were Ice crystals, ice on the wall, ice formations every where. Cleef was so enchanted at the ground stuff that he didn't look up.
(OCC: If you choose to look up your gonna see the Resistance frozen to the ceiling by there talons. There Eyes will be closed and there wings relaxed so there wings will be hanging downwards. You won't know whether they are dead or alive)

Tinker followed Cleef into the cave. As he was still carrying his mask in his talon his field of vision was wider than Cleef's. He caught a glimpse of something tan stretching from the roof. Tinker looked up, and wilfed considerably. Barn owls, anywhere between fifty and one-hundred of them, frozen to the ceiling of the cave. They were all facing the same direction, the same direction as he and Cleef were facing, and all had their wings stretched towards the ground, as if they had been about to take flight. Tinker stopped walking as he looked up. His beak was flapping wildly, although he could not coax out a sound. It was an extremely garish sight.

Cleef turned to Tinker as he heard him land. Cleef saw the look on Tinkers face and followed his gaze. He saw what Tinker saw and said. "Well I think we've found the Resistance, and I think I may know how to get them down. Look around the cave for an inscription or key slot or something. The quiver must lead to there saving. What ever you do. Do not take flight. I fear that if we do we will be met with the same fate.
Cleef started walking around. Inspecting every inch of the cavern.

Tinker stood still for several more minutes. He then visibly shook himself and ripped his gaze from the ceiling. He then began searching the walls, looking for any irregular, triangular hole in which the point of the quiver would wedge, or for an indent in the shape of the quiver, where it could be slotted.

Cleef walked up to another ice patch on the wall. It looked a little bit like a hollow entrance Cleef touched it.......and was sucked in to the other side of it. When he got to the other site he was a little dazed and thought to himself. "This place is VERY strange" He shook his daze off and investigated his surroundings. He was in a side cavern. There was nothing to interesting looking as he stood there. "I better go back and have Tinker come along. Never know what'll come up in these kind of places."
Cleef turned around and touched the Ice patch, expecting to go back. When he touched it nothing happened. Cleef's heart started to race and possibilities of being trapped passed through his mind. He called himself and said alloud. "No use and being negative better just try something else" Cleef could see through the ice patch and saw Tinker was not to far away. He knocked on the glass to get his attention.

Tinker looked up as heard a soft pounding off to his right. His heart started racing again, and he looked around wildly for Cleef. He was nowhere to be found. Had something eaten him, and Tinker heard to footfalls of the beast retreating? Tinker's panic escalated as he heard the pounding again, off to his right. Was it coming back? Tinker stepped away from the wall he had been examining, turning right and preparing to fight. He saw a small passage. The thunking sounded again, and Cleef came into focus behind a sheet of ice at the end of the passage, moving, and apparently unharmed. Tinker let our his breath in a huff, causing a cloud of steam. Adrenaline still pounded through he body, although it was already beginning to recede. He began walking towards to passage.

Cleef, noticing that Tinker had noticed him stopped pounding on the ice and laid a talon against the Icy wall. He watched as Tinker began walking down a passage. "Guess I'll have to meet him around" Cleef began walking cautiously down his own passage. Peeking slowly around each rock before moving on. He then saw a opening in the wall that seemed to lead to Tinkers passage. He walked into it looked left......then right. What he saw made him jump with happiness and a little bit of fear.
Cleef saw the key hole. He pulled out the quiver and stuck it in. He watched as the hole sucked in the quiver, he heard a various amount of thumps. "Must be the Resistance. Now all we have to do is wake them up. He flew the other way hoping to catch Tinker.

When Tinker was nearly to the sheet of ice, Cleef's image disappeared. Tinker's fear returned. Had he been seeing things? He peered deeply into the surface, but saw only his own reflection. All at once thunks and thuds started behind him. Tinker whirled around. All the owls who had previously been adorning the celing were now on the floor, save for a few. As he watched, another dropped, its body flopping loosely to the floor. Tinker feared his heart would burst from all the effort it was making, but after he saw there was no danger (none of the owls were moving) he began to calm down. After a time, he moved forward and began examining the owls for signs of life.

Cleef rounded one more corner and saw the resistance on the floor. He feared that they where dead and that this cavern was just a big tomb. He saw Tinker and landed beside him. Cleef too started examining the bodies of the owls. He walked up to a female barn owl. If he remembered right this was the leader. He felt her chest for a heartbeat.......he picked up nothing and sadness came over him he bagan to lower his talon but then felt something. A heartbeat just barely but it was there.
Cleef looked around and noticed that all the owls where begining to stand. He stepped back to give the leader some room to stand.
Thirty minutes later Cleef, Tinker and the resistance where all back at the Resistance's HQ. They stayed for dinner and explained everything to the Resistance. It turns out that one of them had went rouge and had lead them all to The Cave of the blizzards. The cave had been enchanted and the rouge had activated the enchantment by pulling the quiver out of it's key hole. Knowing that if you would try to take flight during the enchantment the rouge had tried running away with the quiver in the pouch, but he had slipped and fell over the the overhang. He did not survive the fall and his bones had been preserved inside the cave and the Resistance had been frozen to the sealing in a deep slumber.
Cleef left after explaining all this, he knew that he had done his job by saving the resistance and departed to his slipgizzle friend to retrieve his real battle mask. The one he had been wearing was of course the Resistance's.
