[Ardi] After he had left the great tree with his new found knowledge of the winds of the seas in the kingdoms, Ardi gathered his thoughts and left silently. He flew straight to his current residence in the Shadow Forest, a small pine that had a rather large hollow near the middle. He set out the scroll he had found in a ruin not far off, and then took out his notes on the winds. He compared the design with the notes and wind activity and got to work. He took out some parchment and sketched out the effects the wind would have on different aspects of the design, if they would work to advantage or not, and then the important question arose. Could any owls possibly build this device? Another thought came to mind. Would they want to use it at all, despite how endless the possibilities were?

[Nymphadora/Nyra]
Nymphadora flew over the Shadow Forest. She had left the Great Tree as a new slipgizzle and was searching for somewhere to set up a new forge. She had to do something while she wasn't spying and this is what she had committed her life too. She wasn't going to abandon the thing she loved most. As Nymphadora flew she saw a great horned with some parchment spread out in a hollow. "Hey, isn't that..." Nymphadora didn't finish her thought. She flew down to see the great horned. She sat outside the hollow for a little while hoping he would notice her.

[Ardi] Ardi had been feeling strange, as if he was being watched. It had been bothering him for a bit and he did not want any owl's seeing these designs. He finally decided to see what was bugging him, paranoia or an onlooker. Ardi turned from his papers and saw an owl, not just any, the one who had talked to him at the tree, and was trying to become a slipgizzle for the king. This could be tough... he thought. "Might I inquire as to why you have been watching me in my studies?" Ardi asked politely, but with a hint of accusation crossing over with his words.

[Nymphadora/Nyra]
Nymphadora looked up at the great horned. She knew what was going through his head. It probably went something like this: "She must be spying on me." or "I wish this owl would leave me alone." Nymphadora felt the same way many times. She didn't know why she bothered to come see this owl again but she wanted to for some reason. "Don't worry. I'm not spying on you." she said with a calmer and more fun voice than she had ever had. At least, since her dreaded past. "I just saw you and remembered that you were the one who...helped me at the library. Listen, I'm a rogue smith and I'm going to be setting up my forge next door. You could come by anytime and get a free battle claw fittting or something else. Also, I came to say I'm sorry for disturbing you back at the library. Might I ask what your name is? It's the least you could tell me." she said with a warm smile.

Do owls smile? [Ardi] Ardi contemplated the possibilities, but then reasoned his work, another slipgizzle, who could have reason to reach the tree and take notes for this endeavour. It could be useful, along with the protection. "That'd be Ardi, scholar, slipgizzle, and very cautious Great Horned, welcome to the forest" he said kindly. Though not a social owl, Ardi had been taught manners and how to speak properly. He would need to think on this, he had to decide if he could trust this owl with his project. He knew at some point he'd need the help of the guardians, as their knowledge was vast, but for now, it was his alone. For now seemed mighty short a time though, with the arrival of this Spectacled Owl.

(Not really sure but plenty say they do in these RP's.) [Nymphadora/Nyra]
"Thank goodness this owl didn't ask me my name." she thought as she heard the owl finish speaking. Nymphadora scratched the bark of the perch she was on with her talons and then looked up at the great horned once more. "I realize you might not want to tell me what you're doing. Although, since we are going to be neighbors, I'll tell you something about myself. I don't leak things about my friends. Even during my slipgizzle work." she said, her voice plinging with the natural sounds of a spectacled owl. "Should I tell this owl my name?" she thought. Then Nymphadora came to a decision. "Listen, no one knows my name. I don't know why but I feel like I can trust you. So, I'm going to tell you my name." she said and then let out her breath as a way to calm herself. "My name is Nymphadora. I hope you don't mind me saying this but I'm just like you. Well, mostly. Slipgizzle, smith, and very cautious." she said.

[Ardi] Ardi churred softly. "Close, Im not a smith like you, just a cautious slipgizzle", and protector of some important information he thought. Ardi decided that it'd be okay to share his information. That this owl would be an asset, not a problem. He waved her forward with his wing, "you wan't to see what all my fuss is about, its all on this one scroll". He moved the scroll closer to her with his talon. Then moved his notes on weather and winds beside it, "Do you know why I was at the tree studying winds?"

[Nymphadora/Nyra]
Nymphadora hopped into the hollow as Ardi put his scroll and parchment forward. "This owl IS smart."she thought as she looked at all he had done in such a short time. Then she looked up at him. "You're very intelligent. Also, I must thank you for saying you'll keep my name a secret." she said as she looked at the scroll and parchment. Nymphadora then realized that the sun was coming up and she didn't want to be a nuisance. She looked up at the great horned with her sparkly eyes. "I realize I should be leaving now. I have to set up my forge and find a hollow before the sun comes up. I thank you for your time. Feel free to come down for some battle claws or whatever you need whenever you want." she said and flew out of the hollow with her coals and tools that she had been carrying.

[Ardi] Ardi watched her set off and churred, thinking over the encounter. She had not so much as asked what it was, so either she didn't care, or she already knew from seeing it. Ardi assumed it was the second, she had said he was intelligent, so she must have understood some of it. Then again, that may just be from the notes he had on the parchment, it was possible that this discovery wasn't as important as he thought. He knew he'd need to sleep to be productive, so he moved the scroll and all of his notes into a small hole he had dug out in the far corner and then covered it over with tree bark. Ardi went to his patch of moss and closed his eyes to sleep. He had to ask Nymphadora if she wished to help him in the morning, as well as do more research.

[Nymphadora/Nyra]
It was now First Black. Yesterday, Nymphadora had met Ardi and set up her forge. Tonight she was going to go see what he was doing. Her hollow was right below his. She made the short flight up to his hollow and knocked on the trunk of the tree once she sat on her perch outside his hollow. As she sat there waiting for him to notice her being there, many thoughts raced through her head. "Were the two owls friends now? Would they work together from now on? Did he mind her being here? Why did she trust him? Why did he trust her?" These thoughts zoomed through Nymphadora's mind as she sat there. This was all very confusing but she was glad they were... well whatever they were.

[Ardi] Ardi flew over to the entrance of his hollow. "Oh, back again, I see" he said, not quite as polite as he had previously been. He shuffled back into his hollow, "I'd wonder if your here just to say hello or to find out something" he said in a slightly distracted tone. He looked up from his papers and over at Nymphadora again, "Well, come in, I'm not always kind but I don't generally deny anyone entrance". He was only half focused on the Spectacled Owl, he was more interested in a new though he had had when he had woken. "I must ask, have you heard of the Sea of Vastness?" he asked with a most serious tone, observing the Owl for her answer.
-Ahh, the truly distracted mind of Ardi xD

[Nymphadora/Nyra]
Nymphadora tipped back slightly, nervous. It seemed she had come at a bad time. "Well, might as well answer before taking off." she thought and came in. "A little bit. I came across it a few times during my studies. Why?" she said not as polite as she was as well. "Perhaps, I shouldn't come here much. Maybe we're not friends like I thought." she thought. "Well, um, I came here because I was wondering if you needed some help with your studies." she said slightly distracted as she looked down at the parchment spread out on the floor. "Why do I care about all this?" she thought to herself. "Perhaps it's because I need something to do during these long, boring nights." she thought and kept looking at the parchment.

[Ardi] "Ah, yes", Ardi exclaimed, "I could use help, in fact" he went into a short lecture, "As you may or may not know, the Sea of Vastness is, as suggested, a vast body of water, one that is nearly impossible to fly over". He gestured to his notes on winds, "The winds above the waters are fierce, and make the waters dangerous to fly near, even though that altitude is likely the easiest way without finding the River of Wind, as it is called". Ardi wondered if she was following, or if she would care, "In short, wouldn't it be much easier to explore the what might lay beyond our knowledge of this sea if we had a way to use those winds near the water to our advantage? Wouldn't using the water and its winds be a great advance in transport for the owl kingdoms?". He paused for breath, and lowered his tone, pointing at the design for the floating machine, "Do you know what this is, Miss?"

[Nymphadora/Nyra]
Nymphadora looked at the great horned in great wonder. How did he come up with these ideas? They were amazing and could change owl history. She looked up at him as he asked another question after pausing. If someone was watching the exchange between the two owls they would have thought that Nymphadora was hypnotized. After staring into Ardi's eyes for quite sometime, she shook out of her pause and said "Uh...no. I don't what is it?" she asked. All of these plans on parchment were amazing. They took her breath away. Now Nymphadora longed for learning. It had been many years since she felt this urge. She looked up at the great horned again. "Teach me more about this." she said.

This is the ship that is designed on the scroll: blindkat.hegewisch.net/pirates/bermuda_sloop2.jpg[Ardi] Ardi tapped the scroll lightly with his talon, "This is the key to the seas" he pointed out the bottom of the design, "This, it would be made of wood, wood floats, you probably know, so what better? that part rests of the water", he pointed to the tree-like structure sticking out of the bottom. "This we can use the terminology of trees to reference. This 'trunk' sticking up here in the center has branches and sticking out of it, and their purpose is just to hold up these big pieces connected to them" He pointed out the (Sails), those could be made of moss or even parchment, if it was made tougher" he tapped his head, "Its all up here for me, I didn't make these drawings, but I found them and studied them." he hopped over to his notes on winds, "But thats the problem, that moss would catch the wind and move it forward, and I got all I know, but I got the wind information from a different place" he paused and looked straight into Nyphadora's eyes, "The Great Tree". He quickly hopped back to the design on the scrolls. "Only they would know how to build this and with what, but I wan't to know more first"
