St. Aeggies Owlet- Embergious

Description:
Embergious is a rufous morph eastern screech owl. Meaning his fur is rusty in color instead of his sister's; a grey morph, which is pale grey. With his rusty red feathers they are intricately patterned plumage with streaking on the underparts. At his yellowish beak, one can see a small group of thin feathers on both sides that kind of looks like a mustache or whiskers is growing. A stocky little thing that actually looks like a round ball of feathers when sitting, only when standing and walking does he look thin. Keeping the normal large rounded head, short-tailed, and broad-wings. He appears to be a normal rufous morph of the Easter screech owl.

Unlike his sister though, his ear tufts are easily spotted. The cluster of feathers at the top of his head on either side are sticking up a good deal. Making him look like he should be older than he is. Bright gold eyes shine with a lovely brilliance in the light. Even though he has the mustache or whisker looking feathers growing near his beak and his ear tufts, there is something else. Most of his body is the rust red color, even though there are traces of black and cream. The rust color covers most of his body and the other colors, are only small areas scattered about him.

Personality:
Embergious is a kind soul, wanting to aid others rather than do them harm in any form. As such, he is against what is going on. Despite his sister's attempts to get him to accept what is going on and become like she is, he sticks firm to his ways. He does have a taste for adventure but he does his best not to allow that adventurous self to take over and get him in trouble.

Even though he is adventurous which leads to his curiosity, he is a very patient soul. Thinking things through as well as doing his best to tolerate things. Embergious can be a bit cryptic when he wants, speaking either in riddles or riddle like tone that can sound somewhat like rhyming. More of a thinker than a fighter, Embergious will do his best to come up with a strategy of some sort to keep himself out of danger or trouble, usually using anything near him to do so.

While confidence isn't his strongest, he does have confidence in the friends he gains and will cheer them on to the best of his abilities. Even with little confidence in himself, he has just enough to make himself keep trying. Whether it be trying to survive, to get away, and many other things. He tries his best and hardest at whatever the task. The way his sister has turned out has affected him and it makes him sad to see her like this. He does carry hopes that she will one day come to her senses and get him along with as many owlets as they can, out of this place.

Strengths: Compassionate, is able to keep his adventurous spirit in check, thinks things through.

Weaknesses: Cares for his sister, can't fly due to not branching, other owls might find him annoying for his cryptic ways some times and it could get him in trouble.

History:
Born in a tree a good deal away from St. Aeggies. Embergious was the second egg for his parents to have, his sister being their first that was hatched 3 moons before him. To the surprise of his sister, who was hoping that her sibling would be a grey morph like her. Was a rufous morph like their mother; their father was a grey morph like Amila.

When he was a moon old, his sister Amila said her goodbyes to her parents and little brother and headed out into the world on her own. Embergious didn't know this but a week later his sister was taken by a group of owls, that in two months time. Would find the hollow that he lived at and take him away as well.

When that time came though, the owls had chosen a bad time to try and take him. The raid had started smoothly, Embergious was all alone in the hollow, it was when the group of owls that had them were leaving that things started to go wrong. His mother and father had arrived and saw what was happening. Immediately they chased after the group. Only for his mother to end up killed and his father apparantly sharing the same fate when the young owlet saw his father fall from they sky when getting hit in the face.

Unknown to Embergious, their father had survived. But was too badly hurt to go after them. Upon arriving at St Aeggius, it wasn't long till his sister appeared in his life again.

In Character

"Your name?" a female owl ordered after she wrapped her wing around him and dragged him off to a different section.

Walking along as he trembled, the young owlet took notice of her appearance. She was a Eastern Screech Owl like himself, only her feathers were pale grey instead of the rust red that he showed. Her beak was near the side of his head when she had whispered her order to him. He was too scared to responded, he had just been taken away from his home a few days ago.

"E..Embergious." he answered, the female owl's eyes widened as he spoke the name.

Why should it matter? Embergious wondered.

"No need to fear, Embergious. I am Amila, do you remember?" she asked. "I am your sister."

His sister? Amila? He remembered Amila. The older sister who was present for his hatching, who had left when he was a moon old, and was also a grey morph. This was was his sister? Now that she had mentioned it, she did look familiar. It was just the taller size and the strange glaze to her eyes that had him confused.

"I..I remember my sister Amila." Embergious answered after a moment.

A smile came to the female owl when he answered her. Was this really her? If so, had she been taken in the same manner as he was? Did....did she know about their parents?
