Sentes rummaged through his hollow, tossing about all the random junk he had stockpiled here. Much of this stuff he used as bribes to other birds to divulge information, carry messages to him or just provide some other service that he himself could not perform. From broken glass, to little bells, Sentes had acquired a large amount of stuff in here and, since he was rarely here anyways, always left his hollow a complete mess. He was preparing for his journey back to Ambala and he needed to restock himself with bribe items; with the escape of Prue one again, he had to head back and keep an eye out for her again, just in case she was stupid enough to return. In addition, he had also been hard at work learning about what kind of military forces Ambala had available to them; information that would be invaluable to the Pure Ones. Sentes had not been given any further orders, so he assumed that lady Thalia wanted him back out in the field. He was happy to do so, he dislike hanging around here with all the unclean Tytos, especially that Safiya who infuriated him to no end.
But at that same token, Thalia was here also and sometimes, just being bathed in her beauty was enough for him to actually relax here at the HQ. But Thalia was the High Tyto, and he was just a spy, so it was only on rare occasions that he was allowed to deal with her. It was that part the infuriated him the most, an impure Tyto like Safiya was allowed to see their mistress on an almost constant basis, but a pure Tyto like himself almost never did. Of course, it was a bit his fault, he lacked the skills to give him any higher ranking and as much as he tried to perform, fact was his body betrayed him.
He had been hatched rather feeble and, despite the best effort of his mother and father, had never been able to develop properly. He was an utter failure as a soldier and only by the grace of one of his commanders had he been given a second chance. Ironically enough, his feebleness meant that other owls were more likely to trust him, as they did not think someone of his weaknesses could ever be allowed to survive amongst the Pure Ones.

Coryn slowly wandered down a corridor at the Pure One HQ, not heading anywhere in particular. He had been assigned nothing to do today so far and so he had decided to spend his free time looking for younger owls to order around.
As he passed all the hollows, he heard a loud bang come from a few hollows down. Heading towards the sound, he expected an inferior owl to be in there and so he opened his beak, "What are you doing in here?" He said, stepping into the hollow, "Shouldn't you be getting me- Oh... It's you sir... I thought you were someone else." He silently cursed himself for thinking a higher ranked owl was an inferior one. Coryn just hoped he wouldn't be sternly told off.

Sentes stopped and turned, finding a Grass Owl had dared to barn an order at him. It did immediately recoiled and apologized, though it was still a rude thing. Grass Owls were of course lower than him, but if he had to choose, he'd rather deal with them than a certain other type of owl. "You would be wise to learn to think before you act, Grass Owl. Those who let their beak run wild tend to find themselves in far more trouble than they would want," he said, scolding the owl in his own particular manner. For Sentes, he liked for his words to always ring with uncertainty; confusion and disorder were powerful things and an owl confused by your intentions will never see the talon you've placed right at their throat.

Thalia was strolling about the headquarters, taking graceful strides along the cavernous halls of her home. Pure Ones of all ranks would pause and bow before her as she passed, occasionally murmuring a "Ma'am." or "Your Pureness." before returning to their tasks.
Her mind had been wondering, and she found herself dreaming about Sentes, the curious little Barn owl messenger she had met only a few nights before on a raid. Her heart no longer belonged to her loyal mate, Tytus, and she took it upon herself to suppress the slanderous urges she held towards Sentes.
As if on command, she rounded a corner only to see the owl confronting a smaller Grass owl. The thought of avoiding him crossed her mind, but she could not bring herself away from him. She could not tear her obsidian eyes from him. "Sentes." she said. "Coryn, I trust you two are behaving."

"Oh, my lady, my apologies," Sentes immediately reacted, bowing so fast that he nearly hit his head on the ground. "I was just simply shifting through my things and this... Grass Owl dared to confront me about it," he glared at the Grass Owl and spat in his direction. "But it is of no consequence, and I promise, my lady, I was not gleeking about, I will immediately leave to return to my post in Ambala, as per my standing orders. I merely delayed my departure to gather up some supplies I can use to bribe the owls in Ambala." He explained to her, a little nervously. If there was one thing that frightened Sentes the most, it was the idea of disobeying an order from his superiors, but the thought of disobeying the will of Thalia was even worse than that, almost treasonous.

Katara was walking through the hallway, her silver clad talons clicking on the ground. Owls greeted her with a polite "M'Lady," or "Commander," as she passed. She nodded to each of them, quickly walking away. She was desperate to reach her Tytoness and steer her away from that messenger Sentes. Katara shuddered innerly, thinking of the barn owl. He was the cause that her Tytoness was straying from her loving mate Tytus. Katara didm't understand why the Tytoness was straying. Who wouldn't want the handsome, wondrously forward in battle prowess. Katara had once fancied the High Tyto herself once, before he had become the High Tytoness's mate. She had shunned her feelings so he would not drive a wedge between Thalia and herself. " M'lady!" she called as she spotted the Tytoness. She rushed over, noticing the dreaded Sentes. What a slime ball, she thought, taking in his slimy looks and smooth tones. "Sentes, Coryn." she said stiffly, addressing the two Pure Ones. Attachments:

Sentes bowed to Katara as she arrived, ever please to see her. "Madame Commander, it's a pleasure to see you once again before I depart for Ambala. I assure you, once I arrive I'll get back to work on finalizing my report for you and the rest of the Pure Ones," he told her before looking back at Thalia. "I also suggest you have a talking to with this Grass Owl, he dared to barge into my hollow without permission and dared to speak down to me. I would punish him myself, but I am not in a position to do so as I have a deadline to attend to and I would not want to delay myself any longer from following lady Thalia's wishes."

Thalia could sense the tension in her voice, she had been rather disapproving of her admiration for Sentes. She thought that her best friend of all people would be able to understand that her affections were not under her control, but alas it seemed her faithful commander was attempting to steer her from the messenger.
"Sentes, about Ambala. I wish to relieve you of your post there.. if you would like of course. And offer you a position as somewhat of a personal messenger, delivering messages throughout the headquarters. Would you like that?" she found herself shoot a glare at Katara.
What was happening? This fiasco was tearing them apart! Thalia looked down at her talons shyly before turning to the young Coryn sternly. "You are not to address you superiors in such a way ever again, is that clear?" she intoned, somewhat forcing the harshness upon the Grass owl.

Sentes was speechless, completely speechless. What was her highness thinking? Of all the spies the Pure Ones had in their fold, he had proven to be the most productive. Was she planning on attacking Ambala and wanted him out? Did she have other plans entirely. But even more confusing was the position she was offering. Personal messenger? While he would under no circumstances ever refuse or question a direction from his highness, he could help but become confused by thing turn. Certainly his talents would put to waste if he was just a mere messenger... Thalia must have something else on her mind with all of this.
At the same token, he was also flattered that Thalia would offer him such a position. He was by far one of the least notable owls in the Pure Ones, a fact he hated to admit was true, mostly due to his failings as a soldier. But this position, he would be in direct contact with her on a much more consistent basis. That fact alone meant there was not possible way he could refuse her. "Oh yes, my lady, thank you... thank you so very much for this honor. I promise to perform in the same high capacity for you, here in our home, as I have for months out in the forest on Ambala," Sentes replied to her, barely able to wrap him mind around the proper words to respond to such an honor. Finally, after all his hard work, he would be with the High Tyto, he could finally look upon her beautiful face every day.

Coryn bowed his head as Thalia walked up to him and Sentes, "M'lady," he said, glancing up a little. As Sentes told the Tytoness about his mistake, he kept his head bowed, flinching a little as harshness arose in her voice, "I am sorry, it will never happen again." He kept his head down, only lifting it up to greet Katara. With all his superiors around, he felt it was not his place to be here, being as commanding as he was. But he also couldn't force himself to leave, thinking he would find himself being rude and being put into even more trouble than he was.
Sighing, he stood stock still where he was, listening to the superior owl's conversation.

"My lady, I know that it is not my place to question the wisdom our your words or the orders you put out, but I cannot help but wonder why you would move me to such a position. Not that I do not appreciate it, especially coming from your orders, but, ma'am, would my unique skills not be wasted as a simple messenger?" Sentes asked, his voice betraying his timidness in front of Thalia. Although he was able to maintain a smooth composure amongst other owls, his entire facade completely fell apart in front of Thalia. His love and devotion to her collided with his mental defenses, producing a somewhat comical display when speaking with her. The fact that he was actually questioning her orders was more than enough to make his shudder in dread of whatever repercussions Thalia would lay on him for insubordination.

Thalia thought for a moment, pondering his question carefully. She turned to Coryn with a quiet "You are dismissed, return to your tasks please." She then turned to Katara, she hated to send her away, but she knew that her close friend disapproved her affections for this messenger. "Would you be so kind?" she said, curtsying slightly, her wings held at her sides as if she were lifting the sides of a dress.
She led Sentes through the halls of the cavernous headquarters, and took him directly to her personal chambers to assure they were alone. Her mate was fortunately not present at the moment. "Sentes, I dislike being so abrupt. But I must admit that I l-love you."

Coryn nodded, "Yes M'lady." He gave a small bow before wandering away, back to trying to find some more owls to get him food, as his earlier attempted had ended with him being severly told off. (I can see that Coryn being here is slightly awkward for you, so if you want I could take him out of this. I don't mind at all, it's just I don't want to be an awkward thorn in your side throughout this whole Roleplay. )

Sentes obediently followed Thalia, now fearing the worse. Had he offended her so bad as to require reprimand directly from the High Tyto? But his fear changed into confusion and awe as Thalia led her into her private chambers, someplace where only three owls had even been allowed into: Thalia, her mate Tytus and Commander Katara. Any other owls of the Pure Ones were prohibited from stepping a talon inside here. But before Sentes could ask Thalia anything, she went ahead and laid the truth down to him. At that moment, Sentes felt the entire world just freeze in time, the gravity of her words shattering every preconceived nothing he had about his life here in the Pure Ones. "You... love... me?" Sentes manages to say, though his mind was so full to comprehend it. His entire life flashed before him, memories of his failures, his rejections, his quest to prove himself, his work in Ambala, his anger towards Safiya, his loyalty to Thalia... all came together to this one revelation. Tears started to run down the side of his face as he spoke three words, "I am pure!"
((OOC: Yeah, I'm sorry, but it might be for the best.))

Thalia edged away slightly, nervous for his reaction. Would he approve of her affections or would he reject her like so many others had before she had become High Tytoness. Most simply wanted her for they held a thirst for power that she could quench, not her love but her rank. But Sentes was different, she could feel it in her gizzard.
She felt her heart skip a beat as he repeated her words slowly, so overjoyed to hear them he began to cry. She gave him a moment to bask in this, watching gingerly. "Yes. I believe so. But you must understand that if we are to be together no one may know of this."
Her heart was now pounding, a rhythmic thrum against her chest. She stepped closer to him, until their bodies almost met.
(OOC: Thanks Felidae. See you in other roleplays. Sorry about this.)
