Name: Claudius (clawed-ee-yoose) or Claude
Gender: Male
Age: 64 moons
Species: Fish Owl
Kingdom: St. Aggies
Position: Lieutenant
Description/Picture: His feathers are a collectively bland cluster of cinnamon, occasionally accented by tinges of a rusty auburn hue across his chest. His left eye is a golden gleam while his right is the pale and blank reflection of his failed moonblinking when he was an owlet (not depicted in picture).
Personality: Claudius is an extremely calm and intelligent owl and can remain composed in mostly every situation. This gives him an air of authority that he uses widely to his advantage. He tends to rant and is highly displeased with any error, no matter how minuscule. His biggest pet peeve is when owls pronounce his name wrong, which happens often. Claudius is weak, so he prefers to use trickery and intellect to confuse his foe. He has a knack for speech and can lure almost any owlet to St. Aggies using merely his suave words. He is partially moon-blinked due to his past experiences with St. Aggies, so he occasionally acts rather ludicrous when overwhelmed.
Strengths: intelligent, calm, convincing
Weaknesses: terrible in combat, weak flier, easily angered
History: Claudius was captured as an owlet from his hollow in Silverveil and brought to the desolate and unforgiving canyons of St. Aggies. There, he was placed with scores of other confused owlets in a large wide canyon that lay just beneath the eerie glow of the full moon.
Slowly, each owlet fell to slumber beneath the moon that night despite their nocturnal instincts and woke... different. Their eyes fixed in pale, unblinking stares. Except one.
Claudius. When he awoke, the golden honey-like tint in his eyes were still as vibrant and youthful as they had been the night before. He was still normal, much to the chagrin of the authoritarians. In fact, they were so determined to moonblink this Fish owl, that they attempted their harshest, and most fruitful, technique. Moonscalding, as it was called; where the owlet was placed in an individual chamber that somehow magnified the haunting light of the pallid moon.
The morning that followed stirred more confusion and frustration than before, they had found him sleeping peacefully in a corner. One eye, his left, had retained the gleaming yellow hue of the little fish owl while the other, to the right, was now blank and expressionless. Moonblinked. Exasperated, the owls of St. Aggies decided to raise him to one day be a Pit Guardian perhaps, or a Pelletorium supervisor. Little did they know that Claudius would grow into a clever and cunning Fish owl, so much so that he was deemed the Lieutenant as he came of age and has performed his role well.
IC: An aged Fish Owl paced in his chambers, mumbling incoherently under his breath. As he muttered various owl curses, he strutted towards a small, rectangular gap in his stone wall that served as a window in hopes that he may find something that could possibly distract him from his distraught thoughts. He squinted against the sunlight that beat down against the vast expanse of nothing that spread out before him. There. An owlet hovered above a spiraling pillar of stones that jutted from the ground, beating it's wings rapidly in order to stay aloft. "Tsk." Claudius clacked his tongue against his beak and raised his beak in a pompous sneer. "Well, well, well." He spread his muddled brown feathers and beat them against the stale air, churning up a cloud of dust as he flew out to greet the owlet.
"Isn't it just my lucky day."
Codeword: FraggleBeak
Other: Though he manages to suppress this habit whilst in the midst of his superiors, Claude has a tendency to talk to himself as if he were speaking to another living and breathing owl. It is believed to be a minor side affect of his partial moonblinking and is often ignored by his companions as they are used to it. He seems to call this owl in his head Clarence.
