Name: Collyn
Gender: Male
Age: 8
Species: Barn Owl
Kingdom: none
Position: Slipgizzle
Description: Collyn is a rare black barn owl. His dark color helps him blend in at night for his Slipgizzle duties. He is smaller than the usual barn owl but his eyes shine with kindness and hold the determination and courage of a warrior. On inside of his talons, scars of scratches and cuts from battle blades and battle claws cover his rough skin. Collyn uses his talons to protect his body over any other part. He is accurate when it comes to the dodge-and-react; his small body and his quick reactions are to thank for that. Collyn's sooty features are overwhelmed with kindness-he holds the determination, patience, courage, and accuracy of a true warrior.
Strengths: Collyn isn’t big or strong, but quick and small. He has taught himself hunting, fighting, silence, and patience. Those are the spots he is powerful in. His silent, quick, and deadly battle moves have been proven successful. Collyn’s hunting is probably as good as anyone’s. His silent and quick reactions find him an easy meal. Patience was hard to learn, but you have to learn it someday and it’s a large part of being a slipgizzle. Collyn’s hunting skill is average-he doesn’t try that hard. Overall, he is best in fighting, quietness, and patience.
Weaknesses: Collyn lacks strength, but being so quick, it’s usually not a problem. He also is a troubled reader. Yes, he hasn’t had an education with reading. Collyn hasn't had an education by someone else-he taught himself in hunting, flying, and fighting-that’s it. Also, he is bad at conversation. Collyn hasn’t spoken for most of his life-only to spill information about the group he has slipgizzled on-that is the job of a slipgizzle.
History: Collyn has a rather depressing past. A forest fire burned throughout his home when he was 3 moons old, he managed to escape, with one of his mother’s eggs. He had barely started branching, but he did have some experience at flying. He snuck his brother-or maybe sister-into a barn owl family’s tree. He left his sibling to live a quiet and peaceful life. After weeks of practice, he became an amazing flier. He was quick, hard to see, and quiet-the perfect slipgizzle, right? Well he found that out, and now he is one of the best, at such a young age. He has had lots of practice. Collyn has worked for St. Auggies, the Pure Ones, and some random owls that wanted to know what was going on in those two evil areas. Though, thankfully, he has never spied on the Guardians. He would never. He only spied for-and on-the evil groups. Now, he goes on a mission for himself-Collyn needs to know one final thing before he takes a journey to the Great Tree of Ga’hoole.
IC: Collyn shifted on a thick oak branch and murmured words to himself. Readying for flight, the young owl closed his eyes for a few seconds and spoke these final words that he would speak this night-maybe. “Fairy tales are real, not because they tell us dragons exist, but that they can be defeated.” He finished his sentence with his talons clenched around the branch. Collyn thrust off the branch and dove headlong towards the ground, pulling up at the last second, dead leaves barely brushing his belly feathers. He flew off into the dark sky, barely visible among the black blanket of night. Collyn is off to slipgizzle-for himself. He wants to know what is going on with the owl kingdoms.
Codeword: Micefrap
Other: The IC post above is the start of what I will be posting in the Pure Ones camp/area. Then he will go to St. Auggies and see what’s going on there. He will arrive at the Ga’Hoole tree and tell the king all he knows. Is that okay that he does that? Maybe he could get caught and fight his way out…? It might make things interesting…
PS: NEAT site!!!! ;D
