Cam puffed up slightly at the sound of a voice; he hadn't noticed the other owl. She had sense enough to approach him from his good side, though, and he turned her head to see who the hoot belonged to: Vae. A little surprised to see another Ga'hoole owl this far from the tree, it had taken him a minute to process the voice and a moment longer for him to return to his usual size. He turned his head back to the fog, his single-eyed golden gaze doing nothing to peirce the veil of smoke.
"I was looking for new songs," he finally replied, his voice soft, as usual. "I didn't intend to come this far, but that's how it ended up." And that was the truth; he did leave the tree frequently to seek out new sounds, new rhythms; but he was usually back within the night. It was unusual for him to be such a distance away.
It was then that he inhaled sharply and leaned forwad. Something was-- very wrong, very very wrong. He could feel it, in his gizzard; like a weight. There was something in the distance; glowing;just barely - if he looked away for an instant he felt he might not find it again. If it hadn't been so low, he'd have thought it was the sun.
He clacked his beak and flicked it upward, a sort of pointing motion. "There's something out there, Vae." Cam leaned forward, spreading his wings slighty, testing the air currents. "I'm going to go check it out. You can come, if you want." And with that, he pitched forward off the tree, wings spread fully, and dropped straight down for a few feet before adjusting his angle and performing the equivalent of a vertical U-turn. The snowy levelled off his flight path and with a single powerful stroke started towards the strange light.

Artemis lighted down on the branch of a sycamore tree. How will I ever make it to the guardians if I keep getting tired? she thought as she breathed hard. She had just come back from slipgizzling at St.Aggies and she needed to report what she had seen. Time to start flying again. she thought. She silently walked to the edge of the branch and spread her white and black-dotted wings. She shifted her weight and gently flapped her wings, then with increasing urgency and spiraled up into the sky, finally flying. Are those flying snakes? I've heard those are dangerous! Artemis thought and quickly found another route to the Great Tree. So if I keep going this way, make a right to go east, and then follow the Golden Talons I should be able to reach the Great Ga'Hoole Tree by dawn. Artemis thought.
Suddenly she saw a snowy owl in front of her but she couldn't stop. She turned herself a little bit so that she wouldn't crash into the other owl. "AAAAAH!" she yelled and hit a sturdy tree branch. She got up and shook out her feathers. She had a small bruise on the side of her head. Artemis, you've done it again! How many times do you have to crash into a tree before you learn not to be so absorbed in your thoughts while flying?! she thought and then looked at the snowy owl that was flying. Wait, isn't that....? She didn't finish the thought. "Cam! It's me, Artemis! Are you headed to the east? If you are then can I come?" she said in her usual kind voice.

Following his jerk, Vae, too, saw a mysterious glowing in the distance. A deluded owl may have thought it was a piece of Glaumora, so soft and gentle this light seemed. So pale and unreachable that it certainly must be a light from owl heaven. Vae, however, was not deluded; she knew unnatural lights could only lead to trouble. Trouble wasn't something she enjoyed, but she knew it was better to face it as a group.
Setting her wings, she took off only a moment after Cameron had, flying on his bad side so that they may have full range of sight as they flew into what Vae's gizzard told her was a terrible thing. A clumsy sound barreled towards her, and a scream, yet not one of malicious intent, approached her. Ducking smoothly and avoiding the owl flying towards them, she landed neatly on the same tree branch as the other one had. The light seemed much more iminent, and Vae was glad for an excuse to not be heading towards it for a moment.
"We're going to look at that... light over there. It may be very well something the Guardians need to know about. Or maybe it's nothing," Vae lied to herself pleasantly. She knew it wasn't nothing.

Artemis got up in front of the second owl and gave an embarrassed churr. Then something clicked in her head. "V-Vae? Is that you? I haven't seen you for a long time." she said and then focused on what Vae had said. "I thought it was something the guardians need to know about as well. That's why I was wondering if I could come with you and Cameron. Of course though, I'm only the slipgizzle that favors the guardians, you guys are the real guardians. May I come with you two?" she asked in her usual kind voice. Then she recoiled a little bit as her head throbbed from the bruise she had gotten when she hit the tree. After a few seconds, she walked up to Vae as if it didn't hurt at all, when it really did. Artemis' head shook a little bit on that side, but she took in the pain as if it were just a scratch. "So may I?" she asked.

[Ardi] Ardi nodded his head and headed off towards the horizon. He knew we was heading the right way. The only problem lay above him. If these things were dangerous, they might attack him as he leaves. No matter, Nyra was distracting them, and there had to be some other owls around here. They might realize that he was getting help, and keep them busy. One could only hope they would live until he got back.

Horizon You find yourself at the brim of the winged snakes colony; their numbers vast and yours diminutive at best. The glow which washed over the stretch of sky revealed to be hundreds upon hundreds of what appear to be unhatched eggs. Their embryos an ethereal pyre, those ready to hatch fully lit. Standing in the middle of what you have or rather shouldn't have stumbled upon is the matriarch herself; A more muscular mimic of her children save for the powerful legs that carried her. You my friend have stumbled upon a Wyvern.
Will you...
A) Flee to the East B) Remain at your own peril _______________________________ East
Snow melded into pine as you venture further and further into a dark thicket. No shifty stares follow your movements, only silence trails behind you. The gleam now almost blinding flickers as if beckoning you a tenor voice soon following; "Down here" A pair of eyes finally dapple into the vegetation, golden and similar to that of an owls... and yet you might think something along the lines of my what big eyes you have.
Will you...

Zephyr had been flying for only a short while when he entered a forest. He hadn't a clue as to where he was, being from the north and, having a terrible sense of direction not helping him in the slightest. He flew for a bit and, perched upon a branch, taking a break hoping to collect his bearings, perhaps find an owl to talk to and, figure out where he is?
Before he could even start his next thought he immediately caught the sight of something flying out of the corner of his eye. He turned his head slightly in the direction of what it was and, was a little bit amazed. Flying serpents? Well that's not something one would see every day. His first thought was to go talk to them, couldn't be any worse than a 'gull or a crow now could they?

Before the young snowy even got close to the group of flying snakes he took a short time to think about what he could be walking into here. There were... more than he could count of these flying snakes and, him by himself. He continued to observe them but, wasn't sure if he should attempt to make contact or if he should turn tail and run. Right as he was pondering this he noticed a larger version of the other snakes, this one had legs even! It... didn't even seem like a snake to Zephyr, perhaps it was... some other kind of animal? If he had more owls with him perhaps Zephyr would have gone to investigate but, until then he was just going to have to get away from them. The young owl turned around and, headed the other way.
