Sylin sat on her own in the library, there was no one else with her which made her lonely. She hadn't made any friends to talk to about... no having friends which made her even lonelier. Her family was gone and she didn't know what to do for fun, she wished she could talk to someone, but she didn't feel like she could relate to anyone because she had not been born in the tree. She was reading a book called 'The Minors and Majors of Weather'. It was about weather patterns and differences of major weather to minor weather. It was old and you could almost called it tattered, but Sylin was fascinated and excited to fly in more weather.

((Hey I'll post here since Tioren made things and is looking for others)) o^o Tioren o^o Tioren hopped into the library carrying shiny new battle claws and a mask. Both looked as if made by a pro. She spotted Sylin and looked away shyly, then hopped over. She dropped the armor and looked away. Tioren said quietly, "...Hi. Errp... D-do y-you need some battle g-gear? It's made by a beginner, but looks perfect. I would try them, but s-since I'm only an Owlet and almost a Juvenile, I can't go far with these..." She brushed her beak on the mask and then retreated. "They said it was free to me. Would you want to try it on? She said to find someone who would fit in it..." She pushed the mask and only the sparkling red claws to Sylin.
"It's supposed to be lightweight but effective, she said." Tioren looked at Sylin with a gleam in her eye and stared at the other battle claws. She glanced at the book cover and gave a gasp. "A-are you really reading that? I read that at my old home-" She stopped herself and looked down. You're such a talker! She thought. You barely met this owl and you're rallying it up! Heh... "I-I'm Tioren... Sorry about talking...." She timidly said. You're stupid! She told herself. Can't remember flying strategies, talking way too much... She then picked up the other claws and backed away.
She sat in a corner and observed some books, admiring the old ones and finally picking one up called 'Beyond Ga'Hoole'. She read about her home bushes, then put it back, grabbing one called 'Guidelines to Flight: Wing Balance'. "Hm..." She studied it.

Sylin smiled kindly to her, she was amazed at the craftsmanship of the helmet and claws. She studied them with interest. She couldn't find a single major error. It was shiny and new and glossy in coating. She could even see herself in the magnificent helmet. Then she turned to the claws, they were just as amazing. After he settled down she looked up, "Wow! Did you make these?" she asked finally.
(Sorry, would have made it longer but I have to go to bed, night)

((Yeah, I had to go to bed right at the end of the message )) o^o Tioren o^o Tioren put down her book and paused. Then she looked over her wing, staring at the floor and said, "Heh... Y-yes, I did... but I shouldn't be making anything. I think I would get in trouble making this... I call it a Mask and Talon Gear." She looked back at the shelf. "The Talon Gear right there..." She turned and looked at the Gear and Sylin. "...The Talon Gear is all different. The shining red Talon Gear I gave you is for Attacking. I put some... blood on the end of each. It shows feirceness and strength, and should scare the enemy. If you put your Talons up, they might as well be fire blinking." She looked at her leg and then at the other Talon Gear. "The red-golden Talon Gear is lightweight and also attacking." Tioren looked at the beautiful Gear she was holding. "... The silver is lightweight also and defensive. The gold... The pure golden ones are for attack. Added a bit of silver on the end... These..." She held one close and stopped, then put it on one talon. It gleamed and she quickly took it off after admiring it. "...These are special battle claws... The silver on the end is for blocking with your talons. But also you can strike back with the silver. A slight part of the gold pokes through the silver for easy slashing. It can fool others in battle. I made sure it was extra-sharp. But I don't know if there's a special talent in Ga'Hoole about making Battle Gear." Tioren pushed the Gear aside and the looked at her book again. She put it back and instantly said, "A-are you a good flyer? I've forgotten the basics, so I need a bit of help. If i can get help I'll be back in the air and not hopping... I learned to fly at a moon old, but after the storm..."

She watched intently, the very pretty claws and helmets intrigued her, even though she probably wouldn't be using them regularly. The red ones for attacking were very well done, she added the blood part which made her shiver in her gizzard. She ruffled her feathers slightly and turned to the red-golden talons they seemed like flames, blazing in the firelight. Then the silver lightweights, they looked like they could keep off any predator or enemy. The gold ones glowed in the dim light, for a moment she wondered why they were only for offence, they looked good enough for offence and defense, then she wondered why they had silver on the tip. Both those questions were answered when he explained the silver tip was used for slashing. She tipped her head a bit and ruffled her feathers again.
"What about the metal's chaw, that was my second favorite chaw when I was a Juvenile. That should involve lots of Battle Gear. You could ask to be a Blacksmith if you wanted, plus it doesn't involve flying as you pointed out, but I could always show you a few pointers." she settled down a bit, her ruffled feathers smoothing out more. "It would fun." she then closed her book and up it back on the self, noting her page. "I am sure once you are a Juvenile there is no doubt you could be a great blacksmith. With great Gear like this you could be very well known throughout the tree.

o^o Tioren o^o Tioren looked at Sylin. "Yes... But I want to fly with others. Oh! The red talons secret..." She took a talon and a rock she brought along. "..You can make real fire when striking one! but not often. Want to come out and look?" (sorry about length)

(It is ok, I actually prefer short posts, but to be polite I spend 15 mins or more on my posts to making them longer so I can match to others o.O)
Sylin nodded excitingly, "Of course I want to!" she said, "But not here, you don't want to set fire to the books! Lets go somewhere safer, like outside. She hooed in a staccato tone unique to Boreal owls.
(I also, need to go to bed.... O.O)

((kk)) o^o Tioren o^o "Okay." She picked up her things, including the book, and started to go out. She realized that they where in for a long time, because it was already night again! "Wow..." She hopped out and went to the ground, gathering sticks. Then she hopped and flew up crooked. "Forgot about balance! What's with it? ...." She found a thick forked branch and set the twigs down. "Ready?? ...Should I do it here or on the ground?"

o^o Tioren o^o
"I guess we could do it up here..." Tioren arranged the sticks so that the smallest twigs where proped up. None of them would be falling to the ground tonight and this time, because its a waste of energy to go back down. But Tioren did go back down, and for a long time. She came unsturdily back up holding a medium rock in her beak. she set it down and picked up one of the red, glossy claws. "Rocks help better, but maybe you could strike two claws together... it's a puny flame and would ruin the affect."
Tioren hesitated, then gently stroked the claw quickly against the rock, over the twigs. She immediatly pulled back as a shimmer of light shone. She hopped back from the edge as a fire soon appeared in the twigs. "It's good, huh? Remember, never use it too much... I would strike at the back of the claw in case you need to shade it down to be comfortable. morning fireblinking, night REAL fireblinking." She looked up at Sylin and gave a slight smile, then gazed at the fire. "I'm used to the sight of fire. A fire in my home made us come back to ga'hoole..."
