Personality:
Owl was of royal stature; as a master of flight and combat in mid-air, he prided himself upon augmented battle gear and had the strategical brain set for the planning necessary to bring down the enemy. Though bravery and valor seem to be key characteristics of this bird, he occasionally will not think the plan through and will rush into the battle and perform reckless moves that have a tendency to endanger the mission at hand. He can be sometimes extremely impatient with those who are stubborn, and may 'flip out' at them quickly, leading him to brandish an always armed taloned foot and release a screech that sounds the beginning of the argument. He likes to always be right, and as a preference for gambling, or at least taking safe bets. It is within his nature to sometimes trick an owlet into giving him their meal because he makes these safe bets, which gives him a near perfect streak. He is an owl who enjoys the arts, and along with those arts is writing, and will often pluck one of his own feathers out of his body and use it to write masterpieces of the daily chronicles. However, as to be expected from such a stubborn, strong-willed owl, he does not always follow through with these novels and his hollow is filled with numerous novels that have been unfinished because he had the dreaded 'writer's block'. The poor owl does not take direction well, and will often make up his own commands and blame someone else for telling him otherwise.
It is in his nature to throw himself at the mercy of his enemies for his comrades' lives, and upon one occasion it nearly costed him his life in which he exchanged his own life for the lives of numerous owlets asleep in their hollows.
He is renown for his speed, navigating, great leadership, and overall charismatic qualities.

History:
The young owl had hatched like any other owl had before him; through the cracking of an egg with his egg tooth. He had been an adventurous bloke, and would often stretch his wings and attempt to fly to unknown places, only to fall to near doom numerous feet below. Upon one incident, he was searching for the sensation of flight and had purposefully fallen off, only to fall through the tree's numerous branches. While the scars healed, there is one that still remains near his left eye, though it is somewhat hidden by his feathers. As childhood changed to his teenage years, he began an erratic apprenticeship; one in which he would try different occupations to decide whether he liked them or not, and then quickly try them again seeing as he would forget the sensation that he felt as he worked under the classes. Such a talented owl he was, except as he was watching the smith work one day, a coal fell forth from the fire and landed upon his leg, burning him severely. He was in severe pain for a multitude of days until he finally was able to move about again, with a mark in the shape of a circle with a jagged line through it from where the coal had landed upon his flesh.
It was upon one day that he was taken prisoner when enemy owls at the time came into Ga'Hoole and came near numerous hollows full of owlets. With Aakesh on guard that night, he quickly apprehended the two intruders; however, was outnumbered and beaten up brutally. He was given the choice of sparing his own life for the numerous owlets within the hollows, or letting the owlets take his place. With that heavy decision, he told them that he would rather die than allow those to hurt those weaker and younger than themselves, and so they dragged him away. For the next two weeks, he was tortured daily for information; and his feathers had a direct coloration change due to his separation from light. It was eventually that he was rescued from captivity, and it took him numerous moons to recover from a mere two weeks of beating. During his time of being 'down and out', he met an owl by the name of 'Nessa'. Though his irritated state of him being locked in a hollow for many moons sometimes showed through, the radiant atmosphere about her that calmed him and made him act decent in most times, and only when she left would he finally notice how she filled the hole within his soul.
If there was one thing that this burly, strong owl could not do was propose easily, and he spent many days working with his father on how to do it. How silly it sounded, really, this proposal; but he knew that Nessa was the one for him, no matter what would occur. A destination and time was set, and as festivities ensued, he would whisk her away with him to the canopy of the great tree. He hadn't much to present her with, but had chanced upon a glorious stone that shown pale white like the moon. She had increased in her beauty that night, for the moon complimented her well, and as he made his awkward speech, the slow timer going off in his head was increasing in its ticking. Standing it no longer, he pulled forth the glorious gem and asked her to be with him forever. She accepted, and that was the most wonderful moment of his young life.
IC:
The hero had returned! Huzzah! Wings had been mangled when he had returned from being held captive in enemy territory, and the owl had certainly been in a horrid state. Those days of lying lame in his hollow as he watched others soar the skies in pitiful boredom were gone, and now he would be able to try flight once more. The sensation! Oh how he had longed for it so in those many weeks of custody. How loyal he had been! They had beaten him black and blue and broken many a bone, but he had not let slip a sole word. He proceeded to edge of the hollow, gazing down from the tip top of it down towards the earth below; and a nervous gulp was given as mental preparation went under way. Wings shakily stretched out, for it had been months since their last use, and the grand owl was soon having second thoughts. Perhaps he should try a lower elevation? Not so high a drop? No! He must do it here. With awkward flapping, he would levitate off the hollow's entry way, and successfully flap a few wing-beats before he would ultimately feel a cramp within his muscles and screech loudly before plummeting towards the ground below; the only thing he could do was to stretch out wings and ignore pain, hoping against all odds that some sort of gust would catch him before he collided with the earth below. Those amber eyes were wide with fear, for even an owl like himself knew when danger was upon him. He searched his memories for hints of what to do, but the fall he was enduring was leaving his mind a blank. He began his share of profanity as he neared the ground, and quickly did his best to push out his wings to their fullest potential; for it was only a few moments before impact with the ground would occur that he would catch his needed gust. It had saved him from another set of moons recovering, or even death, but now he could safely let himself crumple upon the ground and release a 'moaning' sound. Oh the pain that was within his wings! Unendurable!
