This is where the current plotting for the Pure Ones will go, so as not to flood the c-box (GH and I kinda already did. Oops XD).

It's a little too late for that... I guess right now I'm not too sure as I don't know how I want Dimitri killed. Before all of this plotting he was to be killed by Paige, but things have drastically changed.

Well, if what we plotted in the c-box happened, only Kygoe and Barrath would actually die and Katara and Dimitri would stay in the same positions.

Well I think it would be best that, at the end of this entire plot, that Dimitri does die. He is old and is really out of his element. The world has passed him by, something he can't accept. But the time is coming for him to join his idols in death.
What about this idea? Dimitri succeeds? It will be very brief, but he musters the support to replace Katara. But he orders the slaughter of all of Katara's supporters, which leads Paige to decide she needs to stop him and is really the only owl that can get close enough to him to do it.
Of course, we would need to have Paige and Dimitri interact somewhat often in order to build the father/daughter relationship that would make the end much more emotional.

Well, did you think about my proposal up there? Having Dimitri take over for a brief moment as High Tyto before being killed by Paige?

I think that would work, but I need to figure out a plausible reason why she would do that. She is very smart, calculating and good at strategies and plans. Maybe she decided to pull a fake retreat, then a Trojan Horse? Or maybe she decided to pull a guerrilla warfare type maneuver, and she faked her death to take the Pure Ones by surprise? Any suggestions?

Maybe Katara realizes that, while she's the High Tyto, she is too much of a huge target for Dimitri. With Dimitri as head of the military, whatever she does it still works in his favor, on one talon if she gives in he gain more power and influence, but if she resists then he has more evidence that she is purposefully trying to restrict the ability of the Pure Ones to operate. Either way Dimitri is the one that looks good to the armed forces, so she decides to temporarily step down to figure out a better way to deal with him, only for him to killed by Paige after he orders all of Katara's supporters murdered.

Well, Paige, although she loves Dimitri dearly, sees that he has gone mad with power and so on and decides it is best to end his reign. She supports the Thalia/Tytus/ reign.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm thinking and maybe a little more, maybe to the others he's just gone mad, but Paige understand that really, he's just in pain. Seeing the destruction of the Pure Ones once before has completely broken him and that is why he is so focused on ringing back the old ways. She understands that he's just been alive for too long and he needs to finally be laid to rest with Nyra and Kludd.

Great, she kinda holds a mercy killing for him then.

I totally agree with the Paige/Dimitri thing, but there is a problem with Dimitri becoming High Tyto. The way you suggested doesn't seem like Katara, nor would it be her style. I'm in favour of Kygoe, who has long loved Katara, betraying her. Kygoe, who has been scorned by Katara would betray her, giving Dimitri vital information for his plans. Katara and her followers would barely escape, and Paige would kill Dimitri. Barrath would accidentaly betray both Kygoe and Dimitri, and Dimitri would kill Barrath. Kygoe would be killed by Katara, which would create a heartfelt, touching death scene.
The reason I want this to occur is that I want Kygoe and Barrath removed. I was thinking I've planned maybe a few too many characters, and I love the new ideas better than Kygoe and Barrath.
This would also create more drama, more dramatic scenes and the plot would thicken. What do you guys think?

Well if you are fine with keeping track of all that, then I'll play along with it, though I don't necessarily think you need to be so complicated with Barrath, he could just try to betray Dimitri and gets killed by him.

Kygoe would betray Katara then Dimitri, which would fit his character as he is very calculating and smart. He would stab them in the backs. He would be killed when Barrath, his very stupid brother accidentaly let slip to Dimitri. Dimitri would kill Barrath, but not before Kygoe would escape. Kygoe would flee to Katara, who would kill him. I will keep track of it all, all DImitri needs to do is kill Barrath.
